Working trains?

AS I understand they had planned to have working subway in Fallout 3

Weird way it works, you equip the train somehow.

It was scrapped, I know its working boat mods for Oblivion and I don't think they use this method as you can drop stuff on the deck of the boat and it moved with you.

Should be easier to do with an train as it would only drive forward or back, main issue would be accuracy as you would want to stay on the track,

I would love this! It would be cool if they were the old pneumatic kind, give it a bit of a steampunk feel!

You kidding me? Raiders would be ripping up the tracks for the metal all over the place and a Supermutant would well.. be using the girders as clubs. Trains generally only work when they dont have to worry about

A) Deathclaws attacking the trains

B) Raiders attacking the trains/line

C) Supermutants attacking the trains/line

Imagine fighting a group of deathclaws through a moving train?

There was a subway mod for Oblivion. It uses a train which pretty much acts like a horse.

Although I would prefer it if the train would just move and my character would be in for the ride, just like in real life.

I know there's a mod for it, but I always wished there were moving trains in vanilla NV. I wouldn't even mind if I couldn't interact with them, just to see them go by would have been cool.

And army convoys. Those trucks DID move when we weren't looking, right?

Wasn't there a moving subway in Broken Steel? I recall shooting at ghouls from a train.

There was but that subway was also broken down in a lot of ways with collapsed tunnels and broken trains all over the place. It was only operational because plot.

I don't imagine the Commonwealth having working trains, though the NCR supposedly did have working trains.

The subway was basically a armor peice that
they strapped on you and then showed you what was basically a QuickTime cinematic

This would be awesome to lead a behemoth onto the tracks just to have the train smash into him and kill him.

Movable statics in general, please, like moving platforms or elevators. They experimented a little bit with this in Skyrim's DLC, and the Creation Engine doesn't seem to have the same problem with it as Gamebryo did.

I'm wondering if VATS would be able to compensate for this or if it would just mess it up entirely.

you could get a elivator to work. the problem was getting the actors(NPCs PC and criters) to move with it at times.
