Workshop Bugs

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 8:51 pm

Workshops are right now the #1 biggest bug swarm in FO4.

-Enemies spawn directly in base (making your setup pointless) [They shouldn't be able to 'spawn' anywhere NEAR your build area]

-NPCs/Enemies don't comprehend path-finding, simply running into the walls

-If you don't arrive in time to assist in defense it's treated as if your workshop automatically lost the fight (you lose settlers and your stuff is broken) [This makes workshops a drag because they interrupt what you're doing to impose a time limit on you in which your defenses are treated as if they're non-existent] [If you have a sufficient amount of defenses it should reduce the damage you would take, instead of being completely worthless just because you didn't show up]

-Junk items do not break down properly unless you manually scrap them (I tested this thoroughly after reading a thread with conflicting experiences)

-No convenient way to manually break down junk items

-Some objects which you should be able to remove cannot be

-Preset corpses

-Some trees

-Dirt piles (this one irks me so bad, i can scrap an entire fallen house but I can't sweep up some dirt?)

-Some cars

-Statistics regularly bug out, displaying wholly incorrect variables (the bugged variables DO appear to affect Happiness)

-Settler names don't properly reflect their occupation (it'd be easiest if you could rename settlers)

-They keep the name Provisioner even after being reassigned

-Reassigning Settlers is difficult, it'd be better managed from some kind of notice board

-Despite placeable objects being very attached to a flat horizontal plane, most settlements have serious slopes

-Sometimes can't place objects in areas where it appears it would be fine to place them

-Occasionally targetting things becomes strangely difficult/impossible

-Can't attach doors to most preset structures

-Bell rings once, doesn't reflect that it would gather attention properly (should be 3-ish times)

-Should be able to assign 'combat behavior' to Settlers (if you have a radstag outfit and a .38 pipe pistol, don't run out to fight super mutants, please)

-Should be able to TOGGLE snap-on feature for walls and other snappable objects

-Build limit is too small oftentime, preventing you from actually having fun with the workshop

Hoping to see some good improvements for the workshops, they were the reason I pre-ordered the game.

I'll elaborate a bit if there are questions.
