I really hope there are a good amount of world 1st achievements. Do we know if there will be any and if there is any idea how many and what for ?

Hope not, encourages rushing and locusting content. Please no.
Hehehe, server first mudcrab kill.
I agree with the other two though, no need to have em.
Yeah, they could have a large statue of the character of the first person to quit the game.
But seriously, it's a bad idea.
There will be enough power levellers rushing to get max levels as it is without the need to make it worse.
Yup really hope there's no such thing in the game. Serves no purpose whatsoever for 99% of the population.
For me the world first will be getting my characters name.... pretty sure if I do that no one else can get it
Nah. If there are achievements, it should be limited to things that are potentially achievable by anyone, at anytime. Although I wont shed a tear if they're omitted entirely, they don't really add much.
Well there ARE achievements for sure. Just not sure about (hoping there aren't) world-first achievements.
World first problems.
Sorry, couldn't help myself.
I've looked quite a bit at achievments in betas. There was no such things as world/server first achievments. Could they be added later? I guess they could, but it would not make sense to add them after launch though.
That said, I hope that kind of stuff stays out of that game.
Ugh, world first. I only liked that I had the world first on Vanguard which was "the first person to travel on Gelenia" (aka the first on the server who logged in when it went live). It was really noticable some people where rushing like maniacs to get the most world firsts. I did not participate so i enjoyed the game more.
So.... no
I'm guessing not the kind of responses you were expecting.
World first is just stupid imho, it encourages rushing through content and has no relation to skill or anything else, it just promotes people risking cardiac arrests, I hope there's no such thing.
There are achievements, I haven't seen any world first achievements though, hopefully there aren't any.
I remember feeling accomplished when I got Realm First 85 rogue when Cataclysm came out. It sent out a server wide message and I got a lot of congratulatory whispers...
I am surprised at the number of negative comments about such a simple question. World/Server first achievements are a fun way of competing, for a certain type of player. If you don't like competition, thats great. Feel free to play the game how you want. But don't put down others for how they enjoy the game. Personally, I think racing to get world first in anything is very exciting, although I won't be doing it in this game.
If you're not interested why bother answering a thread like this? All you're doing is seeking to deny others the playstyle they enjoy. It's not your responsibility to correct everyone's point of view.
I don't think you will see any. I never liked them myself and I would hope that ZOS keeps it as is without them. I believe their vision is to be as inclusive a game as possible, world first achievements kind of go against that.
I remember I got a few world firsts (or server firsts) when Rift debuted. I am very much a slow and steady player, explore and smell the roses. The firsts I got were from finding locations or looting a certain item. I have no desire to rush anywhere in Tamriel. However if ZOS includes world first it's no skin off my back, just another line in chat.
This. I do not care about such achievements but if there were any then i don't see a problem. Those people that enjoy such things can do them.Everyone plays the way they enjoy the game the most.
Plenty of other MMOs where the WoW-kiddies can locust their rocks off to their heart's delight.
How is someone denying any playstyle? You can still rush to max level as fast as possible be it with an achievement or without so it makes no difference. People rushed to max level in vanilla WoW without any achievement.
