World of MMOcraft

Post » Thu Aug 27, 2015 8:08 pm

We all play them at some time whether it's ESO, Star Trek Online, World of Warcraft etc. So far I'm playing two.

The Elder Scrolls Online: My Primary MMO.

Star Trek Online: I'm downloading this from Steam once it finishes downloading I'll check it out.

Anyway those are my MMO's I play. How about you guys?

Currently playing ESO and enjoying it

Previously have played Therian Saga, Neverwinter and WoW (but only up to level 20 since that was free)

Not really a big fan of mmos, too many overblown egos running around (or at least those are the people who make all the noise even if they are only a minority of the player base)

None, really. I log in on Guild Wars 2 every so often to play with friends, but that's about it.

I used to play Warhammer Online while it was still a thing, might look for a private server or something for that one, cause it was kinda cool I guess.

I played SWTOR, I would have prefered it as a single player game though, cause the personal story is excellent. I heard that the next expansion will be a bit more single player oriented so it's also a game I might pick up again.

Besides that I've played Aion, which wasn't very good, WoW, which I have zero interest in picking up again and a little bit of Star Trek Online, which was cool, creating your own alien race was a cool feature, but I didn't get super captivated by it.

Also as far as MMOs go, I am really excited for Warhamer 40000: Eternal Crusade, so that's a game I will play when it comes out.

I've played 3 MMOs. FF11, FF14 and ESO. FF14 is the one I've played the most, but now I'm not playing any of them and no plans on getting back to a MMO anytime soon.

Does "A lot" count? :P

I played WoW, GW2, LOTRO, Star Trek, Anarchy Online, Everquest, Everquest 2, Rift, Neverwinter, SWTOR, Warhammer, Aion, ESO, FF11, FF14, Star Wars Galaxies(played on a private server for a long while when the official servers closed which destroyed my poor characters D: )... toyed around with Perfect World when I was a kid too.

But at the moment I'm only playing ESO and Everquest 2, I have been wanting to get back into FF14, or maybe FF11, but there's no time! Probably will play FF14, I already have an account and Just need to Subscribe.

Only playing ESO. I play the Ebonheart Pact because it seems the most "Elderscrollsy" of the alliances to me.

I've played Tera and Runes of Magic in the past. I had to quit cold turkey on them as they were consuming a ton of my time.

I forgot of both of those! Did not play much of Terra since I got bored quickly, but Runes of Magic kept my interest for a while. :)

Like Berret, I've played "a lot." I consider myself to be a single-player gamer at heart, but I make a living from a website devoted to an MMO, so I guess I'm not "pure." I've been slowly cutting down on my online gaming over the years, though. These days I spend most of my time playing Betheda's games.

Some of the MMOs I have played, and liked: World of Warcraft, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, Everquest 2, Guild Wars 2, Star Wars Galaxies. Right now I'm playing Star Wars: The Old Republic. I've been playing SW:TOR for about three months and have been enjoying it immensely. I am seriously thinking about getting ESO sometime later this year.....if I don't get Fallout 4 instead.

On my PC is Guild Wars, Guild Wars 2, Project Gorgon, Star Trek Online, and Wizard 101.

I have not played any of these for quite some time (4-12 months). I used to love playing MMORPGs, but the ones out today are just not the same, mainly due to a very different playerbase :)

Been playing Star Trek Online and OMG I LOVE IT. I might have to get in some Elder Scrolls Online time just to keep it from getting jealous :D.

Currently? Amusing myself with TERA :teehee: . Previously in this year, I've played Star Trek Online (been playing that on & off since.... 2011?) and SWTOR (played a couple months subbed, haven't bothered since my sub lapsed).

In the past? Played a lot of WoW, City of Heroes, and Star Trek. Played a decent amount of Neverwinter. And I've poked around a bit at a variety of other games over the years (LotRO, D&D Online, and a variety of silly Eastern f2p games with silly outfits - Vindictus, Dragon Nest, Forsaken World, Sword of the New World, Rusty Hearts, etc, etc... :whistling:)

Played 99% solo.

edit: I mostly enjoy leveling/questing/exploring & playing dress-up with my characters (City of Heroes was great for that. As is Star Trek - between making your character's uniforms, customizing your ships, and outfitting your bridge crew? Wheeee!) Grouping with random strangers for dungeons, or PvP? No thanks.

I got my starter ship looking pretty good:

currently? none.. I was playing ESO for a bit, but can't play any PC titles atm thanks to a dead comp..

in the past though? more than most people probably have...

A semi-complete list of what I have played in the past (as I am sure I forgot some), although in no particular order:

Spoiler

Dark Age of Camelot
Everquest
World of Warcraft
Guild Wars
Star Wars Galaxies
Lord of the Rings Online (was actually in the beta for this one, had the Collectors Edition and was given access to the old private test server "Isengard".. i feel like going back and giving it another try somedays, but considering i played it at its height, i feel seeing far less people in Bree town may end up providing a sort of "dead" feeling)
Final Fantasy 11
Guild Wars 2
Planetside
Planetside 2
Pirates of the Burning Sea
Elder Scrolls Online
Star Wars The Old Republic
EVE Online

EDIT #2: Ohh, and Phantasy Star Universe for a bit

and a few of those various Korean/China based F2P MMOs, which really aren't worth mentioning

EDIT: and out of all of them, you know what the most frustrating was? in the first few weeks of the original Guild Wars, the PvP Tournament started at the Tomb of Primeval Kings.. everyone was there because winning the tournament would give you the item needed to trade for your guild to get a guild hall (and at the time that was the only way to get it, and if you didn't want it players would buy it off you for a fortune).. but, when recruiting people, you would get idiots who never played an online game before, and the second the round started someone would end up typing "Press Alt + F4 to enter God Mode" in the Arena chat, and suddenly 60 percent of the matches combatants all dropped out at once, and these guys fell for it every time.. after a few days of that i stopped grouping with Randoms and we got our guild a vent server..

i wouldn't really call Minecraft an MMO, but thats just my opinion

Formerly:

Star Wars Galaxies

Star Trek Online

Currently:

Defiance

Galaxies is the best MMO I have Ever played. Until the Admins began selectively enforcing rules prior to the Servers going offline. STO was great fun, but eventually, I grew bored of it. Once you reach max level and do endgame stuff, the only thing left is to make a new character, and that's just investing a lot of time again. Defiance is great if you're looking for the overall experience of an MMO.

My only MMOs are Ultima Online and Star Wars Galaxies. And I tried LOTRO for about two days. I am too schizoid or something.

ESO on Xbox...my home computer can't play anything other then a potato.

If I had a proper PC I would get Black Desert, the way this guy geeks over it really sells it along with the features he points out- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqZgop1H4Tw#t=833

Combat looks a little much but having collision is a big plus as most MMO's don't.

I really wanna play ESO myself honeztly...

Otherwise, the only MMO I might get on would be RuneScape... I get on-just to screw around with my account though. (I use to be really into that game).

I was in some of the beta tests for ESO and did not like the Elder Scrolls transition to an MMO. Too much was changed to make it viable for that medium

One thing STO is good at---killing time. Started playing around 3 PM and when I stopped it was 8:00. Funny it didn't feel like I was playing long  .

I started playing MMORPG's in June of 1999, Everquest was my first MMORPG. Back then was a community if someone said I will be on at 9pm to help you they were on at 9pm. Today's playerbase is every man for their self and how can I screw over the next guy. Its getting pretty tiring and I don't know how much longer I am going to keep playing. Every single real life friend I started Everquest with has quit mmorpgs and I am going to be next!

I will admit, it was really fun, and almost felt like Mass Effect-ish in its gameplay.
