Worried about dragons

Post » Sat Nov 06, 2010 4:11 am

I'm kind of worried about dragons because i was going to do the main quest right off the back to see if i will be able to fight Alduin. i'm worried that if you beat the main quest then you won't get to fight anymore dragons. Thoughts?...

Maybe, I think it may be either a...: You kill Alduin and the dragons become unorganized or something, but are still there.
Or you banish Alduin and all the dragons, like with oblivion.
Just a guess

Well, if they're somehow connected to Alduin and you manage to cast them out so hard even google can't find them (okay, nicked that from op flashpoint), it's only natural they won't be around anymore. Just like the oblivion gates stopped after the defeat of Mehrunes Dagon. However, I don't see why there won't be dragons anymore if I get this connection totally wrong and their appearances are of a rather independent nature. Another thing we know nothing about so anyone's guess is as good as mine.

Well, Bethesda could always fix the "issue" of not having any dragons left after completing the main questline by having some kind of explanation to why dragons are still roaming the lands. I hope they'll do something like that because I'm not a fan of having the TES world go back to being dragon-less or dragon-free. They could just make dragons even less common after completing the main questline for Skyrim.

Why would there be no more dragons? These aren't demons from another plane, they're native to Tamriel but have laid dormant.

I hope you're right. I think it'd be cool if they were still roaming the land after the main quest is complete. :mage:

LOL! So, basically you are woorried about doing the main quest because you then finish it? Thats ridiculous, mate.

After you defeat Dagoth, no more blight storms. After you defeat Dagon, no more Oblivion Gates; after you defeat Alduin (IF the game has Alduin actually returning, whch I personally doubt), no more dragons. Want blight storms, gates and dragons? DONT DO THE MAIN QUEST.

or maybe you don't kill the dragon king? We still have no clue what the main quest will be about and the twists it will take, I mean I never saw certain parts coming in morrowind.

I just hope they will be entirely different to those dull, faceless, completely impersonal douchebags that were the Daedra of Oblivion who wanted to conquer Nirn and go on murderous rampages of destruction even though they have no need for the natural riches of the place they were invading or, for that matter, any real reason other than "it's what they do, duh!", which doesn't actually count as a real reason.

No that voicing my concerns now (or ever) will make any difference.

Yea. Most the daedra of Oblivion did seem kind of like the typical or cliche bad guys who want to conquer and destroy all, yet don't seem to have any reasons for doing so. One thing I wished would have been explained more was why the mythic dawn leader was able to wear the amulet of kings, and what is Mehrunes Dagon's motivation or reasons for wanting to conquer Cyrodiil. Heck, even the Knights of the Nine DLC didn't go into why Umaril was hellbent on destruction, blood, and death attitude. He was just painted as the bad guy you had to kill or Cyrodiil is doomed, and that was it. To me, it seemed like Umaril was far less threatening and pathetic compared to Dagon. I hope Alduin doesn't turn out to be another mindless "destroy everything with no apparent reasons" kind of bad guy.

Im worried about the actual dragon fights ... I just cant 'realistically' imagine how a person could melee a large fire breathing dragon to death, when the fire engulfs you in flames you pretty much should die but i can imagine you to just go ..... ugh , and continue slashing at his face

In the end im sure beth will have made them epic
