Worries about character customization

If you click my sig, you'll understand why the color pink is important to me and mine

Would make prefect sense if every color (including pink) would be there in a color wheel or something.

I have one question and one question only as the site is pretty self explanatory with the exception of one thing:

Will the color Pink be available?

Pink is neither a cold (Security), nor a warm (Resistance) colour, so I expect it to play a minor to no role.

Oh, yeah. Forgot that each side has a "color scheme" going on, hehe.
Oh, well. I will choose yellow (my fav color besides pink) for Resistance (yellow is a warm color, yes?) and a very light blue for Security. ^_^

Worries:

Wont be enough items to make 90% of the players have unique characters if they wish
This re-texture thing wont help that much to make everyone unique, I saw some of the Look jacket and it was just recolour
There will be special sounds depending on the weight of your characters clothing, so I'm afraid some ''pro'' will do this to make it sound less, and everyone will mimic
That there wont be enough voices, I do not wish to hear ''HAAKING DE VENTILETIEN SISTEM, CAVER MI'' and/or ''GOING TO OR KOMAND POST'' over and over again all around me

Question:

Will you be able to name your character(s)?

Good question. Also, I'm not sure that the color scheme is exclusively cold for Security and warm for Resistance. The Look has a red mask, and The Warrior has a green shirt. For the most part though I'm sure they are indeed separated.

And yeah, I'm also worried that there won't be enough voices.

Another thing about our characters, since our character is in the story cutscenes, what is his personality and does it change?

It'd be interesting to see our guy talk in the different accents. ^_^

Ah, so it's another mute protagonist in the long-standing tradition of video games, lol! :D I don't mind it as long as we can see our guy on the screen, even if he is doing something like sleeping in the corner like the Rookie in Halo:ODST(sp?), hee.

Apparently you are - without it having effect in the game, because it will display your account-name anyway.

Interesting place to put this...
You've got me beat years wise, but nobody was discussing that in this thread, it's pretty irrelevant.
You can't stop people from hacking. Someone will do it at some point no matter what. Brink is supposed to be very, very well balanced, though, so non-hacked servers will be good and fun. Age verification? Whats the point in that? Kids aren't the problem, hackers are.
Knifes are not OHK, but they are more powerful that the standard gun-butt melee weapon. Nothing is OHK. Oh and you can only have a knife with a pistol.

thats good to know thanks for that and my 1st post did belong here the thread was about customization worries i stated i had no worries about that but about integrity instead
but still good to know and guess your right about hackers being main prob u can always play offline to i guess

Funny, I think the masks are really generic. Unlike the faces, which are fairly unique because of the art-style.

Art style does not make them unique, it merely distinguishes them from CoD. You still share the face of the next guy using your archetype. Clothing however is customisable.

Ok first off, ever heard of a comma? You should use itsome time :P

Anywho, theres no OHKs in brink (a few exceptions for a light in some cases), the game is rated teen but even if it was mature theres nothing really stopping kids from playing, but there wpnt be alot of mindless kids hopefully, even if there is theres co op with up to 7 other freinds and you can bring them to play online against 8 other players.

And there is no "cheating" if your able to do it in the game that was put in by the devs, it may be cheap and annoying but its not really cheating.

Also, just to be clear brink is a fps. Not a mmo, a mmo would be games like world of warcraft or DC universe online.

Anywho, any one mind linking hime to the holy bible of brink?

Actually WoW is a MMORPG brink does qualify as a MMO being thats it has mass multiplayer online gameplay so its technically a MMOFPS
and if your talking about splashdamage im already registered there
i know ive stated it before ive been following brink since it was only a story and a few concept arts
just since its drawing closer and closer to the release date im more tempted to hang out in the forums just so i dont miss anything like a pushback announcement... which we hopefully shouldnt be getting... knock on wood

I'm gonna try my best to make sure none of my characters look like the archetypes, its shows a massive lack of creativity for a start and I'm getting a bit bored of all the 'Anger is teh awesomest' kids

Edit: Except when i first have tha game and don't have many clothes unlocked....then i may have no choice.

to be honest i like the anger bandana still... id prolly try to mix it up a bit tho like whole outfit wise wear the mask with a crazy hat sum trippy face paint and such i also like the spec ops mask too but idk if it can be used by the resistance

Yeah, you can give him a beard or scars, but not change the way he looks. Tbh I'm not complaining about it, I'm just clarifying that the art style does not make players unique, their customisation options do.

I was under the impression that you could change the faces of the archetypes. Choices like The Geezer and The Chin are different faces you can pick.

Yes, I have covered this. Anyone else picking the same archetype will have the same face.
Do you understand?

Word archetype means the choices like The Anger, the Shield and the G. When I am saying that after you have picked the archetype, you can pick a different face, which are for example the Geezer and the Chin.
Archetype and face are different things.

In this video it's the other way around. You pick the archetype, which changes your face. You then choose clothes which can be a mix and match of archetype parts.

This is much more recent video, and either the Sensei and the Chin etc. they show in this video are new archetypes, or they are in fact faces.
