Most of the enemies i encounter with my spellsword nowadays are not worth unsheathing my sword, i just let them kill themselves by with the damage reflection and elemental shields i have, or just walk by and kill them with a touch spell. Then occasionally i encounter a thougher creature, and by the time i notice it's a real threat, it may be too late to do anything

Death by arrogance, good thing i quicksave alot :D

Mmm.... yeah. Death by arrogance.

A while back, I found myself near Hackdirt. I had finished that quest a long time ago (rescued Dar-ma just by sneaking her out of town) and figured I'd just drop in and sort of rub my presence in the locals' faces. It was night, so I went into the church, and sure enough, they were all there. Natch and the woman whose name I forget attacked me and I killed them easily. Meanwhile Etira Moslin ran outside and Mr. Moslin (whose name I also forget) ran up to the front of the church, but didn't attack me. So I was just standing there, looking around, trying to figure out what I wanted to do next, when one of the Brethren came through the door. I killed him relatively easily, but anyone who's done that quest knows that those guys are surprisingly tough. Then two of them came through the door at the same time. I managed to kill them, but took a fair amount of damage along the way. JUST as I was starting to heal myself, SIX of them came through the door, backed me into a corner and mobbed me. Killed me quite soundly they did......

I know i was in some dungeon, escaping some goblin. all my chaps have low health and Endurance, and generally everything that sums to stamina. i was getting tired - so, Mr Brains here jumps in some inner lake or whatever to escape th goblin but gets *paralysed*. In water.

I have no idea what did that - monster or goblin weapon or venom or plant... ???

The 'gas chambers' in Ayleid ruins. Didn't know what the hell was going on the first time that happened.

Same here, I didn′t die but it scared me the first time I encountered it

My first play through was as an Argonian, when I made my Nord character I left the imperial dungeon and dived straight into the water, I stupidly thought that all races could breath underwater

Being killed by a couple swinging maces? Not the worst death.
Being killed by that same exact trap in that same exact way upon reloading? Quite possibly the worst.

That or the billions of times I've died while jumping around on the hillside/mountain because I misjudged how steep it was.

Erm, does death by glitch of being stuck in the rocks count?

I play with the TIE mod, and I think there are a few custom monsters in it. I came across a Deadroth Collosus or somesuch when I was a wee explorer with a slow computer. Look, but monster....lag lag...I'll go fight it....lag lag....swing and hit...lag lag....crap! (Sir Robin's Voice) Run AWAY....lag lag...monster appears to teleport due to frame speed....lose half of my hit points...lag lag..I die. It was interesting watching my character die with severly degraded frame speed.

after finally defeating the main quest having no health potions left, a guard kills me because i accidentally moved a potion bottle that wasn't mine when i went to the store to get more.
I guess it was a slip of the finger.
also the game auto-saved as i walked out of the store running from the dude.
i had no armor and no weapons(all broken), I was too low of a level on any type of magicka to do anything, so i kinda died about 10 times trying to get health and steal a sword so i could finally kill all the gaurds

One time I had the crazy idea of trying to train acrobatics by jumping off of Dive Rock. To my credit, I was not stupid enough to try it all at one time, I took it part by part and healed in between. Anyway, I forgot that char was an Atronach and then ran out of mana and potions about halfway down time three... yeah, he didn't make it...

Does not knowing how to fight and dying to the rat in the beginning count?

My worst death is.... let me think... there so many bad deaths... um... gotta be... pissing Seogorath off without knowing what would happen.

Installing OOO and thinking my lvl 3 character could just go out and whoop some goblin ass. Those berserker goblins kinda gained some stones in OOO. I never even saw him coming, and WHAM! all my health was gone. =(

First time that I played oblivion 2ish years ago, heck I had never heard of a elder scrolls game, everything killed me lol.
But my worst death will be getting paralyzed somehow by a scamp and falling into the lava.

Haha ya. My worst was probably in the Arena when I was killing the Gray Prince. I had the quest done so he wouldn't attack me but I died because he has like uber high reflect damage/reflect spell in his veins or something haha. All with OOO on of course.

My worst death was when I was level 24 on my PC character about 2 years ago and I ran into Miscarcand with an unenchanted weapon and got massacred in a long drawn out battle with lots of running away against about 7 Lich :cryvaultboy:

What comes to mind first is being kicked to death by a pack of trolls. I thought there were only two, but I was wrong.

I am claustrophobic IRL. I try not to let it stop me but In real caves and in hoover dam I was only semi-conscious during the tours. For some reason, long hours spent flying in commercial jets never bothered me but an underwater cave scene in a James Bond movie had me near catatonic. I cannot voluntarily climb into something coffin-like (small and closable.)

I said all that to say this. An early character got into a quest that called for swimming through a cave without any magic of any kind. Halfway through, the cave makes a right angle turn. Somehow, I got disoriented and despite repeatedly switching into map mode and orienting my character I seemed to be stuck on something and couldn't get past the turn. By the time my character died I was in a mild state of shock.
