Worst Quest in F:NV?

Post » Thu Jul 02, 2009 11:42 am

That one quest... uh... fff....ffffssss.....fffffdfffdsaafsaadfsfsSAdassdfasSFADFSADFASDSDFSADasfasfsadffsssfff... oh yeah! The Legend of the Star. Oh hey, a laser pistol... what if i dont use EW's?

The funny thing about that one was the consolation prize -- all those caps.
You know, if you've been running around long enough to collect 50 stars you probably don't need caps anymore.
If you could wear one of the badges, now then I'd have been happy.

FO3 quest that were not fetch quest
Power of atom if u chose to blow up megatron megaton
you gotta shoot them in the head
Moria's quest
Ridley's Rangers quest
the main quest
trouble on the homefront
Big town quest
and many others that i can't think of, note i haven't played FO3 for about 1 year and a half and i still remember them because they were somewhat epic, there aren't that many fun quest like there was in FO3

Moria's quest:Wasteland Survival Guide
Easily the best quest in FO3, but Beyond the Beef or How Little We Know can easily match up to it.
Ridley's Rangers quest
This is just a more or less a dungeon crawling, no match for Unmarked Fiend quest or Hard Lcuky Blue.
Main Quest
Anything But this one...in fact, this is the biggest fetch quest of the game
Trouble on the Homefront
While the backgorund for this quest is nice, it is a fetch quest in your tutorial area.
Big town quest
More of less same as Volare! with no meat in between and have grease (supermutant) at the bottom.

FO3 quest is simply more combat orientated, however given the godliness of VATS and horrible RT combat, make them rather unenjoyable.

FO3 quest that were not fetch quest
Power of atom if u chose to blow up megatron megaton -Oh so you don't "fetch" the detonator from Burke and planet it in the bomb then run all the way to Ten penny tower.
you gotta shoot them in the head - fetch keys, bring them back
Moria's quest -go to lots of different places and pickup/plant, or do something and come back
Ridley's Rangers quest -fetch the rangers and bring them out of the hot zone
the main quest -fetch the geck, do chores
trouble on the homefront - don't remeber off the top of my head
Big town quest -this one too don't remember
and many others that i can't think of, note i haven't played FO3 for about 1 year and a half and i still remember them because they were somewhat epic, there aren't that many fun quest like there was in FO3

Answers in bold and underlined. If not outright fetch quests, the have the same mechanics as one. IE "go here do this, and return."

Edit:
Damn Ninja'd by Valk! nicely done! :) I'll just keep this here to reinforce his/her answers

The Boomer quests. Long and repetitive if you play multiple playthroughs. The only way to avoid doing all their while keeping them alive is going with Yes Man.

I'm always able to slog through the Boomer quests because I know the end result is an amazingly awesome B-29 carpet bombing at the end. Makes it worth it. :)

They are quite tedious, however.

The worst quest, if you can call it that, is the one in Nipton when Vulpes tells you to go to the Mojave Outpost and speak to a single NPC. That isn't even a quest, thats what I do when I talk to people in new settlements.

I just did the critter egg quest for the Thorn, and I found it reeeeally boring, but worst of all profitable. The problem is that I made some 2000 caps by 10 minutes of fast traveling.

Zak young hearts for me wasn't bad at all, mostly because I used each trek back and forth to do things or complete other quests that I needed to go back and forth to the same locations.

That's the way I approach all the quests I do. Pick up the quests, and work them off, whenever you get in the vicinity of their map markers. Don't focus on a certain quest, do whatever there is to do in zone you are currently spending your time in.

Side Quest Awards:
Worst (Overall) Quest: Can You Find It In Your Heart? (You kill 9 ants and get some lame reward)
Most Boring Quest: You Can Depend On Me (Very Boring for me, you basically do nothing interesting except get Cass and watch her get killed)
Most Fun Quest: Three Card Bounty (The most fun quest EVER)
Most Epic Quest: Come Fly With Me is tied up with That Lucky Old Sun (ARCH II ending)
Least Epic Quest: Cold, Cold Heart (You hear what Inculta has to say and you tell it to that guy with the big beard, not epic at all)
Most Easy/Short Quest: Cold, Cold Heart is tied up with Keep Your Eyes On The Prize
Longest Quest: Beyond The Beef, How Little We Know, or Oh My Papa.
Most Pointless Quest: Cry Me A River (You walk across the map and tell this guy to join the Followers and you walk across the map and ask for permission, you walk across the map and tell this guy he is in the Followers, pointless)
Most Vital Side Quest (Not including the "Win the Support of this faction" quests: Restoring Hope/ We Are Legion or Eye For An Eye.
Quest of the Year: Three Card Bounty

Bleed me try is way more fun than Three Card Bounty.

Can You find it in Your Heart is a novice quest, the award is pretty good for character >Lv10

So the best overall quest is worse than the quest of the year?

All of my quest awards are in my opinion, I have never done Bleed Me Dry (but i do know what happens in the quest, sounds fun)
At level 10, my character would have a Hunting Revolver and a Hunting Shotgun. A service rifle wouldn't have much of a result.

Yeah, I kind of lost track of what I was typing, I forgot I had the, "Best Overall Quest" when I was typing the "Quest of the Year", so they are basically the same thing.
But, Return to Sender, is a quest I liked (in my opinion). RS was good, but long, and it was quite fun, but not as fun as TCB.
Three Card Bounty was epic, fun, and of good length. You get good caps and XP too.

Left My Heart; speak to a slave, speak to a legionarie, pay him, talk to the slave. Still it's the exact thing my goody-two-shoes character would do, and i don't have to feel bad when i destroy the camp later, so bye-bye hard-earned (yeah, right :P) caps.
