That one were I had to clear out the highway of ants for some cowboy porm star in Mojave Outpost.
Felt really boring and unnecessary.
Just another "Kill Y of X"...

The BoS.. maybe not the worst tbh.
Though deffinitely the longest of the tedious ones for me.

the BoS ones where in the same vein as the forlon hope ones with the comm's update then the check the reports like right after it. Gab that one wasn't really that bad mostly cuz it was over with pretty quickly. Zak young hearts for me wasn't bad at all, mostly because I used each trek back and forth to do things or complete other quests that I needed to go back and forth to the same locations.

Nah, I know, but it was pretty pointless, at least the other quests, while tedious, had a point to them.
Since the road to Sloan has been taken over by super mutants, deathclaws and powder gangers and the trail north from goodsprings is a cazador den the NCR uses the road through Nipton and Novac which is why 188 is so successful.
Soooo... There was no point in getting rid of the ants since the NCR uses the east road instead of the north road.
Unless I've forgotten something.

I dislike the Return to Sender quest the most. After you deliver the new codes, you then have to go back to half the outposts to verify new strange reports. Then your off to Golf to confront Chief Hanlon. Those damn outposts are all over the place.

Yes, but Hanlon has some of the best written dialogue in the game.

I'm doing Return to Sender now and I like it.

On my way to Bravo, I finally got to use Annabelle. 7 Cazador's under 1 roof? Shoot through the windows and you win :D

And I finally got to kill some Deathclaws aswell.

Traders from Cali come in from behind the outpost and travel up that road(that is blocked by ants) to get the the main road to Nipton. It's what is holding up all the traders apparently. (seems pretty easy pickings for caravans to me.)

Well going to them once to hand out the codes wasn't the problem. It's that right afterwards you have to revisit them all and just talk to a different person. Then report back to the same person.

Yep, Return to Sender gets my vote. Not only was delivering the security codes tedious in itself, but having to go back to about three of them afterwards just made it worse. I really wanted this quest to end as soon as possible. The ending was ok, I suppose, but getting there was just a pain.

King's Gambit was a similar one, since returning to Crocker at the NCR Embassy required getting through all three loading screens of the Strip each time.

That is why there is fast travel. Assuming you've found the stations previously, you can complete the quest in 2 minutes when you skip the travel and the dialogue :hehe:

And yes, the pointless running around filler quests are pointless. I'd rather have pointless filler dungeons. They too are pointless, but less annoying :P

The unnecessarily long BoS quests get my vote. I'm not going to travel all across the map to get your holodisks just to be sent out again.

People seem to complain about the fetch quests a lot, except, all quests in all rpg's are pretty much fetch quests, name one quest in any game where you don't have to go somewhere to get/talk/kill something or someone.

Fallout 3 was nothing but fetch quests.

I would say the worst quest is the one in Vault 19. I was kinda disappointed that Cooke didn't want revenge right away against the NCR.

Yes, but Hanlon has some of the best written dialogue in the game.

That's probably because of Kris Kristoffson

The problem was in NV a lot of the go fetch quests just involved going back and forth passing on messages. i dont mind that so much if the quests are well writen and interesting, but i just found a lot of the quests a bit of a chore. it just consists of you fast traveling between locations watching the loading screen most of the time

Sure it would be nice if there is something you can do in between Young Love, but at least there is some story and options.

Cold, Cold Heart have none.

Talk to this guy.

Done.

That's the whole Quest??? How about kill a merchant or two, or convince/drug some innocent people to dress as Legionnaire, or even led a Legionnaire into the Mojave Outpost for a Kamikaze.

No.

Talk to this guy.

Done.

That describes a lot of quests in New Vegas. Just change the names or genders. Lame.

But Fallout 3's fetch quests didn't seem so tedious. I think it was because they were more challenging. Also a lot of them had personal rewards.

FO3 quest that were not fetch quest
Power of atom if u chose to blow up megatron megaton
you gotta shoot them in the head
Moria's quest
Ridley's Rangers quest
the main quest
trouble on the homefront
Big town quest
and many others that i can't think of, note i haven't played FO3 for about 1 year and a half and i still remember them because they were somewhat epic, there aren't that many fun quest like there was in FO3
