Is it worth giving all my items to Brother Thomas?

Post » Sat Jan 16, 2016 12:59 am

Will I unlock something if I reach level 2? Or do you give all your stuff to Thomas for nothing? It's a scam?

Hack him and all his followers up, it's what the cool kids do.

If you think it's a good idea to give all your money and possessions to a cultist you just met, go for it! And you may want to google scientology while you're at it, it's the perfect sca- I mean religion for you!

Yeah it's a scam mate.

This quest should be done in power armor while wearing an gatling laser or similar weapon, the broadsiders is even better. It makes an good comedy.

I had an vertibird crash killing most of the followers during the discussion in front.

On the other hand I paid 110 caps for an credit card an guy was selling outside the castle.

Then he ran off I simply shot him but it was well worth 110 caps to see that happened.

It would have been fun if you were able to join the cult and convince the cultists to attack their leader.

Me too!

I did this just to see what happens, but then:

Spoiler
I just ended up killing them all and went about my business. Later doing the Cabot House missions I had to go there to get the sister. Was like oh no I mowed them all down already, great another bugged quest. But when I got there the preacher dude had respawned and only him, thanks.

Shouldn't this have been asked in the Spoiler section? I've never even met this guy.

That depends on if you want to be free from worldly attachment.... In a vidiogame that you own.... So you probably do not.

Technically he is not scamming you because he came right out and told you he wants you to give up all of your possessions to join, not like he is trying to trick you.

Level 2 is when you realize it does not matter if you get to level 2

It's not actually the same 'Brother Thomas' person. It's a different wastelander re-starting the scam after the original Pillars were killed. Probably a devotee that was not on site at the time. Different face mesh and moustache, but keeps the Thomas name to match the flyers.

If you go with the intimidating option you even get to tell him 'I killed the last guy pulling this scam...' and he immediately relents and does whatever you want, but will no longer speak to you afterwards.

As another poster mentioned, you'll have to go back there for the Cabot House quest.

Your stuff will not be there.

I compromised with him; instead of all my possessions I gave him two shotgun shells.

I felt it was a nice touch. Raiders ended up killing him later in my playthrough and the amphitheater is just a pile of corpses being picked over by the occasional raider now.

No. But it is worth making the whole scam crew headless.
