Is it worth switching to PC?

Post » Sat Aug 03, 2013 2:39 pm

I've read about the patches and thing I dislike about them is they "fix" Derkeethus... I love my essential Lizard buddy!

But ye'h. Mods are what makes the game famous and I would still be playing Morrowind but after playing Skyrim's combat and such... Eh. Morrowind's combat just bores me and couldn't really play Morrowind as much as I use to... Plus to this day, I hadn't found a true awesome Lich enemy mod for Morrowind. Eh. Oh well.

That reminds me. The Dawnguard unofficial mod fixes an exploit, that has to do with vampires and the necromage perk.

Also about never finding a true Lich enemy mod: Ever heard of http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=mods.detail&id=732 It has a lot of liches to kill. It is a classic mod. :)

If you don't want to be spoiled, don't click on the spoiler.

You can also become one if you choose.

If You have a PC that is capable of running Skyrim, then In My Opinion it is foolish not to use it instead of a Console.

Steam can be run in offline Mode when a Player does not have Internet access.

I just built a Gaming Desktop, because I was having issues with the inability to upgrade a Laptop. I spent $3400, but an equivalent Kit can be purchased for $1200. I built My Desktop with higher end components, but I could have used a different Motherboard and Processor, Graphics Card, Case, and not installed a watercooling system to cool three components.

Yes, yes and hell yes.

I was like you once, but switching to PC was the best decision I've ever made.

Gigabyte G1 Sniper 5 Motherboard, Intel 4770 K Processor. EVGA 780 Hydra-Copper. Corsair 800D Case. XSPC watercooling for the Processor, Motherboard, and Graphics Card.

SSD Drives are not cheap, and I will be spending more money on a better power supply in case I decide to run two GTX 780's in SLI.

I have a quiet running PC that has no issues at all running Modded Textures.

Without a doubt if your pc can run it then get it. The amount of mods for pc adds countless hours more playtime and so far there appears to be something for everyone not to mention huge mods like Falskaar. On top of that we have the unofficial patches fixing bugs, you can mess about with console commands or the CK. All in all the pc just adds so many more hours of playtime that its certainly worth buying if you can run it.

I have no doubt inexperienced PC users will have more issues than console users, but it should also be considered PC users are probably more likely to post on these forums using their...PCs. Also, with PCs you can tweak more things - including but not limited to modding and .ini changes, and more freedom also means more ways you can screw your game up.

This does not mean Skyrim is more buggy on PC however. PC users have access to more fixes than console via unofficial patches. There are plenty of PC users, including myself, that can run the game with no issues whatsoever while running several mods and visual enhancements.

In My Opinion Elder Scrolls Games are best played on PC superb graphics + Bug fix workarounds + Mods. If you have decent enough PC buy it on PC. dont think this opinion is of a PC Gamer im a console guy played oblivion on my Xbox still plays most of the games on my console but this time bought skyrim for PC and it was the best decision really just buy it
