Is it worth it

Ok so i have the XBox 360 version and i just learned about the G.E.C.K. editor and was wondering if it was worth it to switch to the pc for the G.E.C.K because i already have 300 or 400 hours of playtime on the 360. I had an idea of a laser satellite with 5 shots is it possible to make something like that or at least take control of the satellite at the sat com array station in the top left corner of the map and move it to drop the nukes where i want them like say over Big Town. Could i make new perks and quests, hideouts, merchants, and weapon schematics.

You can do just about anything you want, if you have the desire to learn and have a vast amount of time to build.

You might be interested in trying this mod out if you get the PC version:

Yea for the most part, the only thing thats limiting you is your imiganation, and the time your willing to put into learning things. The game doesnt have alot of things you want, but its easy to 'trick' the player into thinking things are one thing when they are not, giving the same effect.

Yea pretty much. 99.99999% of what you can IMAGINE you can do in the geck. There are very few things that you cannot do. You simply have to be creative is all.

You are limited in what you can do by what the game engine will allow. And when your just starting, its best to start small, learn what you can do and can't do.
The forum is a good place to ask questions.

Yes!

I had over 1000 hours of play in on the 360 when I switched over to the PC at the end of November last year. I did it primarily to add mods, but at the beginning of January I decided I really wanted to try my hand at making my own mod and I finally (!) released it yesterday. I'm pretty slow and took a lot of time learning and trying everything I could think of which is why it took me so long. I don't think my timetable is necessarily representative of anything, so I'm just telling you to share my story, but yes, the GECK is totally worth it. It's very satisfying to build something and see it work in game. The only downside I can think of is that it's kind of addicting. I'm already itching to start another mod. I haven't been in the GECK all day!

Yea. One other downside I must warn you of, is once you get good with the GECK, you see how they made every single part of the game. You can identify exactly how the placed things, made scripts, triggers, and put stuff to get it to work. It takes some of the awe of it being an awsome game out of it, and you can see where they really slacked and could have made it better. On the other hand, seeing all that is incredibly awsome, and you can see just how amazing some things are that they have made, which puts some awe into it. Overall it balances out, but knowing how things are done definitly changes the way you play and experience the game. For me, it has been a very positive change and I love it. :D

Hmmm... Depending on your budget, NewEgg.com might have something. They generally have the best prices out of the online store websites.
