would like to see a VATS system in Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim ?

Post » Sun May 29, 2011 12:01 am

Being a fan of fallout i love the VATS system
as i understand it Elder Scrolls does not have a VATS system
i think it would be fun to have VATS in Elder Scrolls V Skyrim
letting you cut off arms head and legs
or target different body parts

Unless you want to render the dragon shout that slows time useless, then no VATS please.

As someone being persuaded in Oblivion would say:

"Not now, not later, not ever."

I would like something similiar (without percentages and without pausing) but I really cannot think of a way to implement it to the game.

I yeah,I know,I'll hope for a mod =D

I have two things I would NEVER EVER want to see with finishing attacks (or any other attacks for that matter):

- I DON'T want to finishing moves to go in slow-motion.

- I DON'T want finishing moves to force you into some kind of third-person view (something like V.A.T.S for instance).

As long as finishing attacks don't have what I stated above, I'm fine.
If not, I'm not buying the game until there is a mod that removes it. I find it that terrible.

V.A.T.S has both. Therefore, I hate it. If V.A.T.S is in the game obligatory, I'm not buying Skyrim.
I want everything real-time and from a view that doesn't force you to go into 3rd person for instance.

If they want big barrels of brandy in Skyrim, I'm in.

As for the question, I'm with the majority to saying no also.

Sounds interesting but I want the combat to be in total real time with the exception of a few seconds while using the dragon shout to slow time

I would like some form of localized damage but not like this

It better not be in. I don't even see how it would work, let alone that it doesn't fit in the feel of TES. "keepz ur fo out of my tes" often applies rightfully.

Contrary to my previous post, I would have to agree with this post. Guns in fallout is one of the reasons they put in vats.

Ah...in that case, no.

I want specific hit zones, but not like that.

VATS is great with guns. It works for Fallout. I don't think it would feel right for Elder Scrolls. Other things might be able to carry over between the two series, perhaps the optional hard core mode where you sleep/eat/drink. Lots of players have been asking for that kind of realism for years.

I would not like to have a VATS in Skyrim.

That said, I would also not like to have a Bethesda-style Fallout without VATS. I really liked it in Fallout 3.

Absolutely not. VATS is a Fallout thing, not an Elder Scrolls thing. The Elder Scrolls is the Elder Scrolls, Fallout is Fallout. Let's keep it that way.

Actually, VATS was included because Fallout 1 & 2 had turn-based combat with the ability to target specific areas of the enemy.
