I would like some armor redesign.

Post » Mon Feb 24, 2014 8:07 pm

So far I have seen 3 armor types that I like and the rest... well they are not that good.

Orc heavy veteran armor ( looks alittle like it heavy orc armor from skyrim.)

Then we have highelf heavy veteran armor. Which looks really good. (best on templar imo)

Imperial heavy veteran armor. Again templar variant wins.

The light and medium armor definitly need some redesign they are so boring. Most basic lightarmors make you look like a peasant.

What do you guys think ?

To each his own but i believe the armor sets are fine for now. Some that you may find boring, others could find interesting.

I liked the light armour on the High Elf sorc I raised, looked quite pretty at times.

Had a heavy armour Orc and a heavy armour Nord as well, both looked decent.

Also nothing a costume can't fix.

I thought that there was at least 1250 variations in each of the three armor types.

25 varieties from level 2-50

5 from improvement

10 from race

Then there are all of the "crafting locals" for the set items.

The places that have special crafting stations that provide the ONLY way to obtain special gear with an added buff, of some sort.

Yes, they're called Crafting Locales. You can only find them by exploration and they are the only way in the game to get certain types of armor. There's a pretty extensive set of possibilities as it is, I would prefer to leave it as is, see how it works out, and have the devs devote more time to group questing mechanics, for example. Something that really needs fixing.

I'm thinking almost all the armor looks super badass and is what it should look like according to race.

You can't please everybody I suppose

Oh! Now I remember. I found a few of those.

I liked the peasant/NPC look of the light armors I found, but that's with the assumption that the higher level armors will look more awesome.

i agree with OP, http://wiki.tesotools.com/index.php/Armor shows alot of the armor to date and truely to me i think all of it is almost identical.

where is the real leather armor aperiance? the armor almost all looks the same. wheres the chance for diversity?

That link shows none of the armor appearances, and if you'd played beta, you'd know that the difference between racial styles is pretty massive. And I'm not sure where you're not seeing "real" leather armor. I crafted plenty on my Khajiit.

OP: There's plenty of variety in armor; it sounds like you just looked at the generic normal/veteran armor that showed on the character creation screen, and that doesn't reflect the full variety of armor available.

yes :( thats why i am complaining. need some changes to the apperiances.

it looked like all they did was to take the maxed out armor, and then take away smaller pieces at a time for each downgrade .. lame ...

I'm sure more armors will be added within a month of launch, I hope they eventually make all armors from sky rim craft able. I would love to make me some dragon or daeadra armor, or have glass for light armor

Daedric armor is already a style in the game, and I don't see dragonbone or dragonscale being added unless they add dragons. Which I really hope they don't.

I know the armor design is in game, but will it be craft able? Yea I guess having dragon armor with no dragons wouldn't make sense, but there's still glass, dwemer(wit ever the dwarf armor is called?), and a few others, but I'd say the glass is the most iconic and dwarfs aren't in eso so not having their armor style makes sense too

Of course it's craftable. You saw the style in the list, right?

And they appear to not have glass armor at the moment, but dwarven armor is a level of armor (like iron or steel), not a style. It still looks distinct from other armors in the same style. Try to remember that this isn't Skyrim; the crafting system is different.

That you may need to reevaluate your idea of what a peasant is...

Also, basic armors should look basic, it's in the name. What did you want? Incredibly intricate gold inlaid leather armors at level 1?

The only problem I really have with the armors is that they don't have much body to them. Most are just covering the contours of the torso and look painted on to some extent. Very low polygon counts, but that is what is necessary for 200 person PVP. Which, if I do still get the game, doesn't bother me all that much.

Ok, but I don't need to remember eso isn't skyrim bcuz if you read my first post a few back I was just responding to someone's complaint about not enough good armors, and was implying that within a month they will possibly add new types and was just listing ones I thought would be good for that, so remember read posts all the way thru
Haha just raggin on ya man

daedric is one of the crafting styles yes.

and as of launch there is no glass or dwemer armour, though I imagine that will change as some point.

also, there doesn't need to be dwemer for there to be dwemer armour, the main conclusion is that most of it is already made, and is made using special dwemer metals.
