Would u like the Enclave back in a DLC similar to Far Harber

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2016 11:45 pm

Dead faction is dead and should stay that way, lest they become a complete joke.

They're not intended as a comic book villain that always comes back after each defeat.

Ok. Thank you for the Fallout history. I'm extremely new to the Fallout universe so this helps a lot.

One possibility is that the Chicago branch was an extreme R&D outpost an their work was cloning and/or cybernetics. I realize it is a long stretch but could be used to explain a slow rebuild of their power. And maybe not have them directly in FO4 but have a DLC with a defunct Enclave facility with raiders, super mutants, and/or Enclave turned ghoul personnel that has computers in the basemant that tell the players that the Chicago branch was a research facility and maybe hint at the cloning process or cybernetics or both. So that they are in a DLC and it is left open that they may come back in a new way in later games.

Just a thought to keep the name and potential threat alive but not have them directly in the game so that they can rebuild.

As for a single returning villain it seems to work for Resident Evil with Umbrella. :)

Fallout 4 is my first Fallout, but reading from people's posts about how it's been destroyed, I say no to it.

The whole thing doesn't even have an interesting concept.

Just a thought here but what if Enclave proper was kind of like Nazi Germany that was defeated and what is brought back is kind of like the SS division of Nazi Germany. So what is brought back is a zealot fringe division of the original bad idea. Just brain storming.

Granted by no means do I think they should get a title role in a game but as a stand alone DLC I don't see the problem. And I think if they DLC story is done super well and drawn out over a couple games then they might be able to build back up to a main force that people would be willing to see again.

If they really listen to everyone's most requested ideas, they will do it.

Exactly, not every day you get a faction with so much backstory as the Enclave. It would make sense they would evolve in a world like the wasteland. For the first time we get to play as someone who was in the pre war. What better way to bring back the Enclave and allow us to join than this? It doesn't have to be a major faction but a smaller faction similar to NV BoS. Having a faction as big as the Enclave that has been one dimensional since being in the franchise and allowing it to die should be a crime. Some here believe that its against lore for the Enclave to recruit outsiders and adapt yet when told about the East BoS they're not consider BoS. Many also believe that the BoS always allowed members in yet if that was true the west BoS wouldn't be as bad as it is. If Bethesda didn't do that then BoS will be close to a non existed faction.

BoS has been in 5 Major Fallout titles as a faction while the Enclave was only in 2... You say you want a break from the Enclave than Fallout New Vegas is for you.

I rather the Enclave adapt and evolve than die out.

Yes as remnant and what a few small outposts that could be destroyed by now seeing as the only other Enclave forces in the world were completely wiped out. The Enclave is dead, no more wasteland nazis.

or possible as Ehmeriis said some are still in waiting..

How do we know that the Chicago Enclave are small destroyed outposts? All we know about is the west coast and east coast Enclave. We know what happen with the west coast Enclave years after but have no clue with the east coast one. Not all die after all..

Well it seems like BoS is taking their place as the wasteland nazis :)

With all the Power Armor out there and some being Enclave it kinda tells us the Enclave have been there but we have yet to hear why?

No, the BoS aren't even close to being wasteland nazis, that's just using godwin's law whereas the Enclave were literally based off of Nazi Germany. The BoS doesn't have a "you're one of us or you'll die" mentality, they aren't experimenting on people with the justification of them being inferior, the BoS aren't committing genocide, the BoS don't have a genocidal attitude and the BoS doesn't view anyone lesser.

The Enclave lost all it's bases on both coasts, they don't have the manpower to wait even if remnants survived the complete destruction of their forces in the east and the Chicago enclave could be dead by now due to the simple fact that they're now isolated and have to deal with the inhabitants of Chicago who could include the Mid-western BoS who would be directly opposed to the Enclave forces even with all endings of Tactics.

Face it, Enclave are dead like they should be and even if they did return the only direction they'll go is straight down into a grave.

BoS is committing genocide on all Ghouls, Synths, and Mutants. BoS shoots on sight for any of these. Even so willingly to throw out one of their own.

Enclave only lost the places we've been told. You truly believe the American Government would only have 2 main places? They have several places still not explored yet. The Midwest BoS only has a small faction and at 2277 they all became a shell of its form shelf. At that similar time the Enclave lost in the east.

If Bethesda were to keep making them a one dimensional and they came back around of course they'll fall. It wouldn't make any sense if they were to be still around and not change up any of their ideals. Just like the BoS on the east became a super power so can the Enclave if they were to recruit outsiders to do their dirty work.

in a way the poll doesn't really work cause not very many people played the first 2 fallout games, fallout 1 and 2 combined sold 400 thousand units, fallout 3 and fallout 4 combined have sold like over 25 million so far, so to most people the enclave are not "played out", they're really only played out to the small minority who played fallout 1 and 2, all the millions of new people NEVER saw the enclave in a fallout game, and even people who played fallout 3 only saw the enclave once, my guess is fallout 5 WILL have the enclave, because they're not played out to all the newer players, millions of newer players never saw the enclave, so history repeats itself and it will be quite nostalgic and awesome when the enclave return, and they will return, by fallout 5 it will be a very small minority that actually saw the enclave in a fallout game so it won't matter by then, the enclave to date is the best faction ever in a fallout game.

1. They only attack ferals, not a single ghoul or ghoul-inhabited settlement has been attacked by the BoS
2. Synths aren't viewed as beings, they're viewed as just robots and even so the BoS isn't actively hunting them down or testing people to see if they're synths
3. In case you haven't noticed the Super Mutants in the Commonwealth aren't exactly friendly. They're insane genocidal monsters that eat people.

Of course this is all debunked by the simple fact you can walk around with Strong, Nick and Hancock near BoS members and SURPRISE they don't attack.

Spoiler
The case with Danse is they view him as a spy and traitor, in case you haven't realized spies and traitors are executed even in modern societies

Again, nice try with the Godwin's Law.

Except nowhere, in lore, states the Mid-west has a small faction and again they would still have more of a chance against the Enclave because the Mid-western BoS openly recruited from settlements and groups they interacted with whereas the Enclave want to kill everything in sight because they view everything that isn't them impure and should be purged.

Maybe you should actually learn the lore before making claims like this. The Enclave has ALWAYS been one-dimensional. There has never at all in any of the games shown them to be more than Wasteland Nazis because that's literally what their design is. The entire mentality of the Enclave is "We're pure humans destine to inherit the world from the impure" that's their entire goal. Just face it the Wasteland Nazis after having a majority of their forces destroyed numerous times and has yet to actually win any battle against it's enemies is not coming back.

And to be honest if it was done right our new hero could actually help Enclave with a new DLC because he has never heard of them and have that help carry over to DLC content for future versions of Fallout, like DLC content for FO5, FO6, and FO7. Maybe lie to the hero about their goals and have him help them retrieve equipment, but maybe have the truth slowly reveal through the DLC. Then at the end if you turn against them they attack you while extracting the equipment or if you go with them the give you a piece of equipment for helping and leave. Either way it would be cool if future games pulled that forward like the Dragon Age games to determine if they were cold or friendly towards you in future DLCs.

But it is totally possible for the Enclave to make a return but it would have to be over the course of several installments of the game.

Think about this, there is no reason the Nazis, Enclave, wouldn't use "inferior" species to be their ground troops. So ghoul shock troops and super mutant infantry would not be out of the question for a group like this.

It would look like Nazi apologetic because literally everyone EVERYONE who knows a thing about Fallout knows what the Enclave are and what their entire design is. It's better to just kill off the Enclave, we don't need them and it's better to not make a genocidal group based off of Nazi Germany to be viewed in any positive light.

So we ignoring Underworld? Where all the ghouls hate the BoS?

Synths could pass off as beings. At least Gen 3 synths.

I agree with the last part.

Yes they have always been one-dimensional but that doesn't mean they can't change. You purposely don't want them to change is all I see. All factions have to evolve in order to stay. I gave the BoS as a great example. They recruit anyone in the east while hardly ever doing so in the west. The ones that wanted to recruit more were sent away.

Fact is there is a demand for Enclave. In a business do you ignore a huge amount of fans that want said product? Enclave have been a major faction in 2 games. They're not played out like the Brotherhood of Steel.

Yet some here believe that the Enclave who only been big in 2 games is overkill.

While many here sit here and defend BoS for evolving while if the Enclave tries to than its all wrong. They have to be this. They have to be black and white and not gray...

Let's stop blaming enclave on the nazis. Not like the US government doesn't have an incredibly dark history.

Underworld. You mean the ghoul settlement that is literally outside of a war-inflicted area between three heavily armed forces with trenches and any shadow could be an enemy sneaking up on you? Seriously, I shouldn't have to explain why that point is bad.

They were ANTAGONISTS of two games and they were totally destroyed in both games. The demand for the Enclave is VERY small and most attempts at giving the Enclave a positive side through mods always fail and turn out horrible with the mod projects dead. There is no "huge demand" of the Enclave coming back or being changed to be more than a one-dimensional force. Hell, this thread is filled with people against it, hell did you not look at the poll? This isn't new, there is always just a small group of people demanding it with a majority going "No, that's a bad idea."

So a small minority who visit the forum overrules the millions that don't even know about the forum.

Great logic bro..

Let's use the GTA forum for a great example. Many want a Single Player DLC and hate online yet what does Rockstar focus on more? The online because a small forum doesn't come close to representing a huge fanbase.
