I would like to turn into a Dragon!

yeah, that isn't going to happen, that would be kind of cool to do as a mod. I think that its kind of cliche' to do in the story

Id like to be able to turn into a dragon for a short while. Would be fun to swoop down on some bandits.
I dont think its gonna happen.
But Id like it.

To be honest, I would like to experience that too in-game
Spoiler
but only under the influence of skooma though

Oi.
Im allowed an opinion too, thank you.
To be fair, lore does not contradict mortals turning into dragons.
Or are we forgetting Akavir?

Oh, the good ol' "opinion flame shield". Anyways, they would be cool as a mod. But releasing it in the main game would just break it, and fans would go mad.

Wow. Lore (lol.. I didn't know really devoted fan was a bad word) are rabid. :flamethrower: I don't care one way or another about the idea (probably because I don't know any lore). I feel the same way about every idea. If it can be done in a fun and tasteful way, why not? However, most who are familiar with the lore seem to think it's impossible, so I'll trust them and vote, "No."

I see no problem with wanting to turn into a dragon, I do see a problem with it fitting in with the story and the lore (there again Beth can "adjust" that to suit). So no, I will be quite happy with defeating them and once again becoming the hero of the story - but then I didn't like either of the two Morrowind transformations. <_<

Wow, so much hate against being able to become a dragon... I actually think it would be great and very fun! To be able to see Skyrim from the skies, the epic battles between dragons in the clouds, the possibilities are endless... I don't think it would ruin the game whatsoever, and just because it has been done it doesn't mean it can't be done again... Besides, there's something more to being a dragonborn as Todd hinted in that recent machinima that came out, although I think transforming into a dragon will not be in this game.

1- in elder scrolls lore dragons are rumored to be able to shapeshift

2- most dragon abilities stem from dragon shouts

3- as a dragonborn, you can learn dragon shouts

4- ???

5- profit

And fight another dragon in a dragon form. Turning into dragons is not against the TES lore. What can be a better way to kill an otherwise unbeatable opponent? Wouldn't it be cool?!

Elder Scrolls V:Skyrim-Dragon, Highlander, thingy. There can be only one! Dragon...Born...Identity?

There's also that dragon-centric game HOARD to consider, it at least gets to the roots of what being a dragon is all about, loot, princesses, loot, loot, subjugating your human neighbors with death & destruction, loot, loot, loot, princesses......

Honestly, there have been way too many "no just no"-type posters in this thread. If you're going to disagree with this idea, you ought to give a reason rather than just rudely denying it and relying only on everyone else's agreement with your view as a shield from having to write anything meaningful. I think that this would be a cool mod idea that I'd probably use at some point if it were created. I guess it could be a really high-level dragon shout, not that I think Bethesda would do this. As I remember reading, it's so extremely difficult to become a dragon that it has only been done once, and transforming repeatedly and then back to normal would be practically impossible. But like I said, a mod could still add the ability.

The amount of ignorance in this thread is killing me... Do you people understand the meaning of, 'give a reason'? The amount of 'no just no'...s said in this thread makes Male Shepard wanna cry.

I like the idea, it'll never happen, but it's a cool idea.

The cool thing about fictional games is that all things are possible. It's not happening in this game as far as we know or expect but maybe some day we will have a game that you can fly a mile in a dragon's shoes.

Nothing wrong with wanting something.

I'm willing to bet that the invisible ceiling over Skyrim is too low to accommodate airborne dragon fights. It would ruin any semblance of combat balance the game has. The dragon AI is likely designed to deal with ground based targets only, probably wouldn't respond properly to a flying PC, dragon or otherwise. Maybe in DLC where you had to fight a dragon so massive that being a regular size dragon wouldn't be ez

Hey, look. It's a bunch of people vaguely stating "no, just no" and "it's against the lore" without any evidence, explanation, or logic behind the reasoning. I wonder why that is.

Anyway, by turning into a dragon, I'm envisioning a dragon shout giving the player character the ability to shapeshift into the form of a dragon... and perhaps dragons could do the opposite. It seems to have been implied, in the past, that dragons have hidden among humanoid populations, before. The only conflict I see with it is how dragon AI would deal with aerial battles... which I doubt it was designed for.

I wouldn't mind, but I'd rather not have it.

Unless I'm missing something, the point of this game is to kill dragons, not become one. Lore-wise, it’s possible that Tosh has turned into a dragon, it's also very possible that he's full of dog excrement. I guess it would be a cool gimmick, but having it for only 1 fight would be a giant waste, imo. And being able to turn into a dragon when ever you feel like killing some townspeople is once again, sort against the point of the entire main quest.
