Would The Daedric Lords fight agaisn't alduin?

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 7:29 pm

So when i brought skyrim i really got intersted by TES LORE, and then i discovered more about the Daedra Lords(imortalls and blah blah blah),and we know that Alduin is the first-born of Akatosh,or the same being(But i doubt that). But that question camed to my mind when i saw the battle between Dagon and Akatosh in TES:obvilion i searched a little more between the conection of Akatosh and Dagon....well whatever we know that alduin is not big as Dagon, but have titanic size powers enough to fight a guy like Dagon. But i want to know ...wouldn't the Daedra Lords be affected by the World eater actions, would they try fight agaisn't him?Or wouldn't be they capble of even hurt him?
I ask myself that, because since alduin create a new world, wouldnt obvilion be affected too?

Daedric Princes don't have a whole heck of a lot of power in the material world. They probably would fight Alduin. They have no ability to do so.

Daedra Lords are immortal. They can't be destroyed. So is Alduin, he wasn't destroyed, just banished. It is his DESTINY to destroy the world, which, as the greybeards mention, he may be allowed to at the end of time.

Alduin has more direct power on Nirn, especially since the Oblivion gates were closed.

The agendas of most daedric princes are obscured to mortals, so it isn't really possible for us to be sure that they'd care, at least not all of them. Some might even agree with Alduin's goal, but not with the fact that HE is the one doing it. Dagon, as an example, would rather be the one doing the destroying.

They also likely have some personal insight into the prophecy of Dovahkiin and don't see any reason to get personally involved since the situation will resolve itself.

Didn't you absorb ALduin's soul though?

Also, wouldn't Alduin travel to the realms of Oblivion and eat those people too? He travelled to a certain realm and feasted there at the end of the game...

I don't remember Alduin being banished. I remember tearing him asunder and even seeing his skeleton dissipate. Where are you seeing that he was banished?

not many deadric princes have any reason to fight for munas other than being bored (sheogorath would be the first to take up the charge!), but if they were bored they could easily just mess with the other deadra (and some deadric princes have mortals in their realms, so they are there to keep them entertained)

No, you clearly don't. This is re-iterated by the character telling the greybeards as well.

You don't absorb his soul. It flies into the sky of Sovngarde.

Apparently, the Greybeards also state the 'claimed by Akatosh' bit that indicates banished.

Akatosh claims Alduin's soul when the Dovahkiin defeats him.

Also, the Daedric Lords don't really care much about Nirn, and none of them have tried to intervene before (with the exception of Leaper Demon, and we know how that turned out.)

A reading of the transpondence contained in the thread "On Boethiah's Summoning Day" could suggest that the Daedra lords might actually want to hasten the end of this kalpa, depending on how cognizant they are of their role in the cosmic cycle, their feelings regarding that role, and most importantly on whether or not I understand the implications of those letters properly.

I wonder if this is why dagon's been worried. Hard to become a leaper demon king if you're a dead piece of a ball of dirt

I'd think the Daedric Lords would welcome a new world, loving change and new things like they do.

If peryite's jest is any indication, the Daedra are well aware of the next cycle's implications.

If I remember those letters correctly, I imagine Peryite would work to hasten the ending of the kalpa.

actually if you've done alot of the Daedric quests you'd find out that alot of the Princes WANT to intervene, Some don't know why they are doing it (sanguine) but others want it to be known that THEY are part of the reason you were able to save existence,(Boethia, Namira, Sanguine if I recall correctly).

but maybe thats apart of their plan :ahhh:

I found his shrine but haven't done his quest yet, but does Mehrune's Dagon have any insight on this? I knew he was the Kind Leaper Demon of past who would try and protect pieces of the last kalpa from being destroyed by Alduin.

Nope he's pretty much still butthurt because of the events in Oblivion.
He's a major dike and tries to have you and the last member of the Mythic Dawn killed even after you help him out.

I was half expecting him to show up in the main quest at some point and help us out in our fight agaisnt Alduin or something D:
He probably doesn't even remember his former identity.

Ah, gotcha. Thought it might have refered to something ingame, haven't played Peryite's quest yet.
