Would you beat your in-game spouse?

NO SPOILERS --> I was going through the Companions questline and reached a point where I took the Hired Muscle (radiant) quest from Farkas which involves non-lethally roughing up a random person. I accepted the quest and he gave me my victim: Mjoll the Lioness. My wife. This is the woman who has fought dragons with me. She had my back as I tore through legions of Imperials. She shares the profit from her store with me and buys my junk that no one else will buy and calls it treasure. She carries things for me when I get tired, she cooks for me and she gives me that *special* rest. She shares fond memories of her childhood and early adventuring days when I'm talking to Jarls about the fate of Skyrim. She kills spiders that creep me out. And now I've been asked to rough her up to advance my own career.

So, what would you do?

Wow, I came in here expecting something stupid and was presented with an entirely reasonable explanation for the topic. I tip my hat to you, it's rare to encounter such surprises. :) I'm still removing the poll, I suspect we'd get a lot of people skipping over your opening post before replying with that there. I've also added a subheading to your thread title to try and further diminish that chance.

What would I do? Probably reload. If that wasn't an option I'd probably stop following the questline and leave that faction for a future character.

Particularly with Mjoll. I'm traveling with her at the moment and she's awesome.
