would you believe it? i have another problem

Post » Mon Dec 14, 2009 4:38 am

here's what happened: i'm trying to efficiently level a character, but i didnt know that having a shield equipped while you were being attack would increase my heavy armor skill, so i ended up overleveling by 1 point. i tried using the setav command to fix it, but it refuses to work! it spews out wierd gibberish at me when i try to use it.

i would really like to fix my little mistake here, bc if i cant fix it, i'm throwing this stupid game in the garbage. and will certainly be making a note to never ever buy anything from bethesda again.

What weird gibberish is it spewing out? It would help if we knew what the console was saying.

Are you sure you wrote the console command right?

From your post, I'm assuming you used the SetAV command for your Heavy Armor skill. Did you put a space between Heavy and Armor when typing in the command (i.e. Player.SetAV Heavy Armor xxx)? If so, that's the problem. You need to type it as one word (i.e. Player.SetAv Heavyarmor xxx)

i tried it first as setav heavyarmor 15. when that didnt work, i tried every other combination i could think of. everytime, it keeps giving me a message, something about me entering in the wrong attribute or something.

edit: found the problem, the code i'm supposed to type in is apparently player.setav nor just setav. wiki artical made no mention of that.

i fixed his attribute, now all i need is for the game not to bug on me bc of it.

Shields can also increase light armor if the shield is a light armored shield. If I'm not mistaken.
