Yes, mods are just a super bonus for us PC players. No mods = no fun, but I'd still buy Skyrim.

It will be compatible with mods. 101% confirmed by every single person at Bethesda.

no. not because I can't have fun with out mods, but because mods are what always fix the things I hate about the game. I can easily pick no since I know there will be mods.

I would. I have never used mods before, not in Morrowind and Oblivion or any other game for that matter. I do however intend to use mods in Skyrim... if i buy the PC version. I haven't really decided what version i'll buy yet.

You should try out mods. They're AMAZING.

Get a PC. Even if you aren't going to use mods (for whatever reason), Skyrim will still be better on the PC.

It would depend on how good the vanilla game is.

I certainly wouldn't buy it at release though. At least with mods I can eventually tailor the game to be more to my liking. Without mods, I'd have to wait for lots of user reviews, and even then, I'd probably just wait for a price drop.

What do some of you do with games that don't have mods? Do you only play games with mods?

Depends on reviews, and no I do NOT mean the stupid metacritic score. If I read that the game plays in a way that I might enjoy I will buy it.

Although, I am waiting on reviews with or without mods anyway.

Yes, I would, but for two reasons. One, I couldn't if I even wanted to because I'll be getting the PS3 version, but two, I don't want to and the way Bethesda makes their games are good enough, for me. I've tried modding Morrowind on my PC, and I really didn't care much for what they did. They taint the game, in my opinion. They just typically don't feel right being in there and so I don't like them.

Mods also add 100+ hours of gameplay. There are many ways this is possible:

-Searching for mods. Searching for mods is time consuming (and pretty fun). There are over 25,000 mods for The Elder Scrolls games (Oblivion, Morrowind, Daggerfall, Arena). And that number will just increase with Skyrim.

-Playing mods. Some mods are small (fixing a bug). But some are big (remake of a city). And some are huge (new quest-line...or new lands)!

-Making mods. Probably the most time consuming thing ever, but, of course, super fun. And after you make a mod, you have the joy of playing your own stuff!

You must have downloaded/made the wrong mod! There are tons of mods that don't make the game feel right, yes. But there are some that make them feel perfect. Don't base one mod on every other mod out there.

I know. But it will depend on things like what kind of DRM the game has and whether the game will require you to register on Steam.

That's a third point. The first half of the series did not have mods and so I don't feel the rest need them.

Buy Skyrim at a local store. Don't see why you have to get it on Steam.

Daggerfall and Arena had mods. Look again. Let me look them up...one second!

Admittedly, this is my mindset.

I can't imagine anyone at Bethesda being satisfied that some people must mod their game to like it.

Mods are still cool though :)

I hated Morrowind's level-up system, so I used a mod to change it. It didn't feel like Morrowind, anymore. Trust me, I used the right mods. I used the mods that fixed what problems I had with the game, but when those problems were no longer there, the game felt different... not like the game I had fallen in love with. Therefore, I don't like them.

I'm aware of those. Those aren't actual mods, just a few things to mess with the game's files (to very limited degree) and some content mods that aren't really anything too serious. It's a far cry from 25,000+, but rather more like a handful.

they will exist any ways whethor or not some people think they should exist or not.

actually bethesda are the ones who make the api (or whatever) that lets people mod their games in the first place, so it wouldn't make any since for them to be disapointed that their games get modded.

I'm not 100% sure what Steam is. But I've read many things about it, and I concluded it was a site where you could pay for a game and you download it right on the spot. So, from what you're saying there and my knowledge on Steam, no. I don't see why you should need to use Steam.
