would you call yourself out of shape?

I would say I'm out of shape, yes, but I can't be too bad because I'm considered fit enough to be a firefighter/EMT, so I can't be that bad. At the very least, not at risk of death in the next 90 minutes. :whistling:

No, I'm currently getting into shape for the mountain hiking season. I think I'm in better shape than ever, not necessarily by gym standards, but the aggregate athletics + nutrition + self confidence.

I guess this can only be relative to ourselves and what we consider in shape. Fortunately, my idea falls within most modern conventions that I've observed. Unfortunately, I think I am just outside of them. I'm 6ft and 205 lbs. most of it is fat now as I sink into scholardom. I consider myself out of shape because I've been in incredible shape before. 6ft 185 lbs with solid muscle and definition. Even had abs and the works. Then I got fattened up by my ex. Aging from late teens to mid twenties may have done something to my metabolism. Being incredibly sedentary due to my studies likely also contributed. I don't surf as much as I used to either. I go to the Gym like twice a week for an hour inconsistently.

That being said, while I look pretty out of shape. I still have great stamina and recently ran 2 miles without much trouble. Didn't stop. Maxed out with a few weight sets and I'm not that far off from where I was in Highschool, which is when I lifted weights the most.

Guess I'm slightly out of shape. But not as much as I probably look.

Most definitely! about 15 (and before) years ago, I was very active. I played softball, indoor volleyball, and sand volleyball. Then I was hit with major recurring depression and have quite rapidly gained about 60 pounds. I am most definitely out of shape :)

While I don′t go to the gym I definitely don′t see myself as out of shape. I work in the woods with my dad quite often and you can′t be out of shape if you do that. I also walk a lot though not as exercise, it′s just instead of taking the car short distances.

My fitness can very much be improved, but I′m definitely fit enough for everyday physical activities :)

Nope, just getting back into running again after a break, so I'm not as fit as I was... Certainly not out of shape though.

Yes, I am. Been extremely lazy all winter, but started to work on improving myself last weeek as I intend to get a bit more fit before summer.

Me too. Had to give it all a break last year which was gutting, but I'm just starting to get myself back into things. Wii Fit still kicks my backside though haha!

I feel kind of guilty because I had no real reason to stop ...just couldn't be bothered... Sooo good to get back into it again though! (Even if I am panting and wheezing after the first mile!)

Nah, I work outside every day climbing up and down ladders, climbing on roofs, carrying 120 pound boxes of siding up those ladders, all while wearing a 50 pound toolbelt.

Though I get way more time off in the winter, so I'm the most out of shape I'll be all year right about now, and by the end of summer I'll be back at peak physical form.

I'm 25 now, and my metabolism has slowed down a bit, but it's still extremely fast. So I actually lose weight in the winter and gain it in the summer cus I have such a low amount of body fat that my muscle turns into fat over winter, which weighs less. I'm about 145 pounds now (5'9"), but by the end of summer I'll be around 155 to 160, depending on how much work I do over the summer.

Though my job is pretty active, I don't get much cardio training, so I'll have to do a few runs in spring to get it back to where I can comfortably run 5 miles without taking a breather, cus I'm sure my cardio is crap this time of year.

Winter hibernation is over for me now though.

So I can be in better shape I admit, but I definitely wouldn't say I'm out of shape.
