Would you ever want to live in Skyrim?

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 11:12 pm

As much as I love the game, I started to really think about it the other day and I'd never in a million years want to live there. Such a gloomy life, I'd end up hanging myself within 10 days.

It doesnt follow he conventions of any world that could exist in reality as we know it (even suggesting if magic existed, Gods, Daedra and mythic beasts.

The world just is not meant to support a large growing bipedal population. Its purely for enjoyment.

I'd live there if I could also be an Orc, and if I could design my own face/build :P

Naw, too cold.

Summerset Isle or Valenwood on the other hand... Or Morrowind before red mountain exploded :spotted owl:

Exactly. If I could say just grab an iron sword and carve my path to Godhood then, maybe.

Just imagine coming out of the Winterhold Inn (Frozen Bard I think?) after a night of drinking and just stepping into that empty abyss of snow.

If I already lived there I wouldn't know any better I suppose.

Would I want to move there now? No, I'd miss my modern comforts too much :user:

I'd live there! Preferably with a little cabin on a cliffside overlooking the river in The Reach.

I would have to go with no. I hate being cold, and that's why I live in a warm area.

Also, dragons and Argonians are a reality there. <3

Well, do you know what is wrong with skyrim these days?

If you don't then you haven't been playing.

In a reality where one swing of a sword could end your life as opposed to 10? I don't think so.

Perhaps that's why the suicide rate in Scandinavian countries is pretty high, as my Finnish friend proudly tells me

It seems all gaming worlds are incredibly dark and depressing. Not wanting to assign that attribute to an entire generation I have come to accept that all game developers must suffer from a severe depressive mental disorder. Must be part of what makes them game developers. Cannot remember a game where there was an outcome that was satisfying.

To be honest as much as I like the game skyrim, I think Cyrodil is a much better place to live. Save for mehrunes dagon.

They were very bear-like in their build, so it's kinda spot-on. Sabre-toothed tigers weren't like the lithe big cats you see today in the wild.
