Would you join this RP? Children of Narsiym

Post » Wed Apr 07, 2010 9:33 pm

The Avatar of Narsiym, or what used to be General Currux, is leading the infected, its thunderous roars heard for miles around. Bruma has been taken completely by the mutated freaks that were once intelligent beings.

The Imperial City is utterly overrun, but rumors have it that there are filthy survivors living in the sewers, feeding on the many mosses and mushrooms that grow in the damp darkness.

A quarter of Cyrodiil is totally ruined, blackened and disease-ridden wastelands scar the once beautiful countrysides. The mysterious caves that dot the lands have been gutted out by the infected hordes, and left empty, to crumble as the hordes ravage the land.

Explanation of the Plague of Narsiym: Small eggs that appear to be grains of sand grow into large worms inside the chest cavity. They excrete more eggs and their droppings into the stomach, turning the blood and stomach acid a light green and black color. The Avatar of Narsiym strengthens the plague while it is alive, its presence empowering the eggs to grow quicker, the victims to turn to Narsiym's army of infected within minutes. If the Avatar is removed it is said that Narsiym's hold on the worms will die down a little bit, and the infected monsters will be weakened, and easily disposed of.

You are the remnants of the destroyed Imperial Army, and have created a wooden fortress on one of the many caves that the infected had scoured of life. You have endured the plague for now, and soon Admiral Faurus, who is the leader of the fortess, will band together with the many Camps that have vowed to destroy the plague, and wipe the Plague Drake and the infected beasts from Cyrodiil forever. This will not be an easy task, and many hardships will come your way on this journey into the maw of disease, but with endurance and a strong will shall thee prevail these disgusting monstrosities and abominations.

The cave is located about five miles to the left of the Imperial City, right in the middle of one of the largest Wastelands, which is called Currux's Maw. The neighboring Wastelands are Narsiym's Scourge and the Taken.

Rules:
1. Use originality, make your own nightmares come into the RP in the form of the infected, and have fun with it.
2. Don't uber. The Children of Narsiym, or Shamblers as the survivors call them, are extremely powerful, and have mutations that can both add to and take away from their prowess in battle.
3. The preset types of Infected are: Harpies *man-sized bats with various claw-like mutations, they usually have large black wings and can rip a mans head off with ease*. Bloater *large sack of eggs that fling projectiles carrying hundreds of thousands of eggs, and if hit by one your character WILL die*. Roamer *a generally unmutated infected person, not intelligent in any way, and usually just shambles around, but can be deadly if you get close to them without being careful*. Brute *large scaly mutated person, usually with claw arms or scythed arms, heavily plated scales protect it from most physical attacks*.
4. Don't put anything inappropriate as a mutation on an infected.
5. Expect your character to die at least once or twice, there are a lot of people in the remnants of the army.
6. Nothing X-rated for romance.
7. Be realistic.
8. Any other normal RP rules that I missed.
9. No epic and uber gear, just some iron and steel at the most, maybe a piece or two of silver if you're a leading figure.
10. Please be an RPer with experience, especially if you want a leading role.
The eleventh and most important rule is have fun!

P.S.. This is an RP made off of my fan fic "Carstein Chronicles." If you have any questions feel free to ask them or PM them to me.

Edit: Narsiym is the Ayleid Goddess of Disease. I made it up just btw. Also, Mannfred von Carstein is currently in his tower studying the disease. You are currently in a meeting discussing tactics with the Admiral and the other leading figures. You can be a normal soldier attending the meeting or anyone, and also, pm me your sheets. The Admiral is debating whether or not to call upon Mannfred to their aid.

Well... after reading your whole story, how could I say no? I'll try my best, edit one of my characters, and hope school doesn't get in the way. I'll try and send it to you before I go to bed. Good luck, this could work, as far as mutant zombie invasions of Tamriel go ;)

EDIT: Really, that is not necessary. Even if it does feed my ego. No need to make that any larger

And the predominant reason zombie invasions don't work is because there is no straightforward goal. In this one, the goal is this avatar of Narsiym. Forrest's kind of had a goal, but we never got to it quickly enough. Although I enjoyed that one too.

Yeesh, I just don't get why people want to invade Tamriel with zombies. It was sort of already done in Morrowind with the Corprus Blight, but then you had the power of a God behind it, so you could explain why there was no cure. But there's tons of magic in Tamriel, and tons of mages, and you'll have a hard time convincing me they'd all have no way whatsoever of stopping evil tapeworms.

Uhm.. I think you fail to see the picture here. This is an unstoppable disease. And it isn't invading Tamriel with zombies. This is a well thought out plot and theme, you just can't recognize it. They aren't evil tapeworms, they are physical manifestations of Narsiym, and Currux anchors them to Cyrodiil as a Daedric Prince anchors beings to his or her realm.

Ok then, if it's a Daedra, where are the other Daedra? Or the Nine Divines? Notice how when Mehrunes Dagon tried to stomp the Imperial City, Akatosh was there to stop him. Tamriel is a place kept in balance by opposing forces. I don't think it lends itself well to these sorts of apocalyptic scenarios.

.... It's not a Daedra. It's an ancient Goddess of Disease. It was awaken by the force of the Oblivion gates closing, and was able to get a foothold in Cyrodiil. It created manifestations of itself into eggs that grew into worms inside the body and this is what happened as it spread. Once again, I believe you fail to see the picture.

If you don't like the plot, then don't post in here, because the plot is one of the things I'm not really willing to change because I worked a lot on it.

The opposing force in this case is the players themselves. A disease is spreading across the world, and the only force that can oppose it is a few heroic individuals.

Well, I've been given the go ahead to post my character, so here it goes. :D

Name Bagul gro-Glasha
Age: 47
Race: Orc
Gender: Male

Combat Preference: Melee
Skills: Bagul is skilled in all forms of melee combat; A fairly skilled swordfighter, the abillity to use both axes and hammers effectively and, if the situation calls for it, unarmed fighting. To complement his ruthless battle style, the Orc is a master of heavy armour and also the repair of equipment in general. Although he has his mighty armour to fall back on, he isn't lazy and blocks when the time calls for it. Finally, after years of moving with heavy armour, gro-Glasha has developed the stamina of an athlete but sadly, not the speed.

Weaknesses: For all his strengths, there are a few weaknesses. Firstly, thanks to the heavy steel armour he is clad in, the Orcish warrior's speed is heavily restricted. In situations when a retreat is called, this is bad news as both the fact he is a melee fighter and is slow, often causes him to be left behind. As he lost his family, friends and companions to the plague beasts, it is undoubted that he may turn slightly...Feral, when fighting them. Although this would increase his fighting potential, it would also lessen his awareness, leaving him open to attack.

Appearance: He was once a man who's joy could be seen blatantly pasted upon his face. Yet now, it is only anguish, sorrow and hatred that rests on his worn face. His face has physically dropped into a permenant scowl and his eyes often look straight through people when he is conversing. A broken man is he. The scars and indents on upon his shaven head and cheeks show a life of fighting and now only complement his rugged face

His stands at six foot and six inches, a terrifying sight in battle when he is wielding a battle axe. His physique is nonetheless intimidating. The Orc is practically pure, toned muscle coated with thick green skin. The overall appearance of the Orc is that of a brute, a warrior. But, underneath the tough exterior, is a wounded man.

Personality: Once a family man, now a man set on revenge. Once a husband, now a warrior. Once happy, now broken. Now, Bagul has adopted the personality of a warrior. That is to say, no personality at all. When spoken to, he replies in a monotonous voice, his words have no meaning. When he isn't fighting or working, hes in his quarters, alone, thinking. In battle, he is relentless, ruthless, vicious. In work, he is efficient, skilled and admired. The perfect soldier, the perfect blacksmith.

Armour: Personally designed by himself to accommodate his size and bulk, he bares well crafted steel armour. The intricate cuts and curves have long since faded in the years and battles gone by, replaced by deep scratches, cuts and stains. His helmet constantly has the visor shut, closing him out from the world outside.

Weaponry: The Orc carries a silver battle axe of behemothic proportions on his back to match his size. Whilst using this normally, he also carries an iron longsword, strapped to his waist incase of disarment or a different situation. And finally, if all else fails, the knuckles of his gauntlets are sharp and pointed, perfect for unarmed combat.

Biography: Born in Bruma, Bagul was trained for war by his father from a very young age. His mother died soon after child birth, both father and soon were saddened, but continued with training. Other than military training from his ex-legionnaire father, he lived a normal life. When he reached the age of twenty, he was drafted into the legion as one of the few, non-Imperial soldiers and this was only due to his father's past services and the Orc's skill.

Many years in the legion only honed those skills, and he was reward with countless promotions and riches. They came at a cost, he was thirty five and hadn't lived how he had always wanted; with a family. He left the legion and went back to Bruma. His father was disappointed, but he too had left the legion for the exact same reason. A few years later, Bagul had a wife and two kids. Using the money he had earnt in the legion, he built his own smithy and became Bruma's most talented smith.

When the plague came, the Orc lost everyone he loved to its foul touch. His wife was brutally mutilated by one of the beasts and died in his arms. His children were gone, to where, he didn't know. When he battled through the streets in his armour, he found his father had been set upon by tens of the beasts. His friends from the tavern, dead in the streets. He fled Bruma, taking a horse and headed off to the Imperial City.

Yet, he found no hope there either. The city had been overrun by those beasts too. What he did find, however, was a small group of legion troops he had trained. They told him of the fortress in the wasteland and they set off to the fort. Now there, he is a blacksmith, working to produce weapons and armour for the men stationed there, but he longs to fight.

Make sure you guys don't get too attached to your character. You will most likely die once or twice during this RP, for the plague is extremely easy to catch, even with all the precautions taken by the Legion remnants. There are countless *about a thousand or two* men in the fortresses that dot the Wastelands, so a new CS won't be very difficult to create. Also, you may be a person from another fortress, like a lieutenant or admiral or something that is being called to this meeting in the fortress that most of the players are currently in.

EDIT: Also, the Fortress you are in/being called to is called Fort Stillwater, and there are five nearby forts. Fort Curse, Fort Haldstadt, Fort Pauldre, Fort Saleus, and Fort Slaanor.

Name: Salvius Nikotias
Nickname: Sal
Age: 38
Gender: Male
Race: Imperial
Birthsign: The Warrior. Gives him increased Strength.

Height: 6'2''
Weight: 190 lbs, quite muscular but it's not overdone. Though he is stronger then he firsts looks.

Talents: His swordsmanship has been noticed for being very powerful and fights with force (lacks a bit of speed though). Also good in heavy armour and can block. Can take a fair amount of damage.

Appearance: Realitively handsome, but nothing overly special. Has a few small scars on his body from battles in the past. Has a short 'rogue knot' pony tail that goes down to about halfway down his neck. Often seems to have a smile on his face, giving off the impression of a happy man. Nose is quite small but straight and undamaged. His slowly increasing age is starting to show however with the marks on his face. Has thin eyebrows, that sometimes cannot be seen in certain light. Has a small chin goatee, but no other facial hair feeling that it doesn't look right on him. Also has suprisingly long eyelashes. Even though he is tall and lean, he is oddly not fast.

Weaknesses: Ever since he was about 15 years of age, he has had a problem in his knee where whenever he does to much physical activity it 'causes excrutiating amounts of pain, making him barely able to walk, let alone fight. This makes Salvius only good for short bursts of power as too much will just make him collapse. Even though he is strong and fights with power he doesn't have much speed, making him a quite easy hit for some people.

Personality: Extremely loyal to the legion army. When he is training and fighting he seems very serious. But get him out of his uniform during breaks and off-time he is an extremely happy and cheerful man. Always wanting to make new friends and make everybody around him happy. This has often lead to his superiors thinking he is not mentally strong enough for the Legion, but he proved them wrong. Is a devout follower of the Nine and they guide his good deeds. Although he is often friendly, when pushed too far he will get very angry, sometimes resulting in him using restrained violence, but he rarely ever swears, he hates the words.

Short Bio: His story isn't really an exciting one, but it makes sense nonetheless. His father was in the Legion when Salvius was growing up. They lived in a small outpost quite far from the Imperial City, holding about 10 men. Dad taught Salvius everything he could and by the age of 22, he was accepted into the Legion as recruit. Throughout the years he showed much promise, and it was possible that one day he may reach the rank of Captain. He has never really actually seen the Imperial City, and has no desire to either. The place is now basically a ruin, full of vile creatures. However he wouldn't mind taking the fight to them one day.

His father died of unkown causes. He wasn't too old at 65 and he was in quite good shape even then, there were no signs of the worm infection either. However Salvius still believes that it had something to do with the disease. His mother still lives at the old outpost. She didn't have the energy to move to the new one with Salvius so they try to stay in contact via letter. There a few other soldiers there who guard the place though,so she isn't isolated.

Equipment: Carries just the ordinary Legion equipment. However he has a Silver longsword, which was crafted by his father himself, it isn't any more powerful then a regular one but it looks slightly more elegant and is slightly more durable. Dons Imperial Legion armour, however in most battles does not wear a helmet, he feels it impairs his vision and ability to hear. However in very fierce battles he will wear it. Has a steel dagger as a small side arm. Salvius also wears an amulet given to him by his mother when he turned 16. Whenever he wears it, Salvius feels like he was more energy, so wears it in battle. (It has a fortify fatigue enchantment, but he doesn't know that exactly.)

Misc:
-Has a twitch in his right eye, that people sometimes laugh at, but only behind his back.
-It has also been noticed that he has an unorthodox fighting style, but never is criticised.
-If there was a chapel nearby he would go there every Sundas, unfortunatly there doesn't seem to be. However he still does worship the Nine privately at times.
-Favourite drink is just ordinary beer, never been a fan of the fancy wines.
