You do know how summoning works right ? You are not just creating the creature, you are summoning it, that is you are teleporting it from one place to another. And that place is the planes of Oblivion. I don′t see myself summoning any rabbits for example from Oblivion unless there is a Daedric prince that loves rabbits and has created daedra rabbits.

You could summon a bear in oblivion dwemer centrions in morrowind. And you could summon undead, and I don't think they come from daedric realms.

Isn′t the undead thing just like a branch of Necromancy, they didn′t want "Necromancy + Daedric Summoning" so they just had "Conjuration" if I′m wrong then that′s a pretty good point and I admit defeat.

But the Bear and Dwemer centrion I look at as kinda just being vanity, like not really canon but just a "cool thing" to have in the game, I could be wrong here too though.

Well I just looked up the bear and Dwemer centrion summons and you have to find books to summon them so maybe that has something to do with it.

I think not. It doesn't really make any sense unless you put them in like the bear and dwemer summons mentioned above. Besides, as long as you are playing on PC someone will make a mod for it :P

I would support this as long as new lore was created to explain it.

Edit* I would also like to add that I don't think there's any current lore that refutes the notion. I don't see why "mundane" creatures couldn't somehow find their way to a Daedric realm, especially Hircine's.

I'd prefer that you are only able to summon daedra, as summoning skeletons and calling yourself a necromancer for that is lame.

Bah, why not. Might be cool if I want to role-play a druid.

I've mentioned this before......i've heard that one of the dragon shouts is a summon dragon.
I cant remember where i read it,but i will try and find out.
Another dragon shout is "slow time" and "teleportation" not sure on the range of the teleportation however, and i'm not sure on any other dragon shouts.

In Bloodmoon you can summon 'spirit' wolves and bears and Dark Elves can summon Ancestral Ghosts.

I reckon you should be able to summon anything that you've killed. Also, Dragon Shout "Dragon Summon" is comfirmed.

In morrowind, summoning a bear and wolf was earned by the Skaal, as a way for you to call out to nature for help, not actually transporting a wolf from one location to yours. With corporeal undead (skeletons, zombies, etc), it's nothing more than making necromancy quick and easy, instead of having to collect bone fragments and pieces of flesh. Same deal with the dwemer centurion. The only legitimate part of conjuration is summoning daedroth, weapons, and spirits. With daedroth and weapons, you are summoning a being from Oblivion and controlling it till it dies, or the loophole eventually comes around. With spirits, you are taking a spirit from the Dreamsleeve and transporting it back to Mundus for a limited amount of time, depending on your skill.

hmm yeah... summoning other things makes less sense than daedric and ghosts. I always wondered where my endless supply of bonewalkers and zombies come from. I bet there is a believable explanation somewhere. teleporting them from some grave somewhere. Poor svckers I mean souls..

Creatures from the Realms of the Daedric Princes should be summonable for limited time periods using spells (and maybe summoning circles, candles, etc.)
Undead like zombies and skeletons should be brought to life from material you have at hand (dead bodies) and not just summoned out of thin air -- ghosts and spectres etc. could be
Forest creatures etc. could be summonable, but they should come running into the fight from off-screen -- not popping out off a cloud of smoke and flash of bright light

Just my 2 septims

I've never seen it as summoning them out of thin air, as in making them exist yourself. You just teleport them from where ever they reside and bind them to your will. I suppose anything can be summoned under the right circumstances... I just think it needs a bit of an explanation to what exactly happens/where these other non daedra actually come from.

something simple, a pact with the king of worms might be plausible to enable an endless supply of undead. Or some part of a daedric realm has loads of undead you know, just chillin like the average teenager undead does. Something like that would do for me

I'd rather just let wood elves use their beast tongue ability to call a deer to use as a mount. Reindeer I suppose.

No matter what, it would be nice to be able to summon creatures. It could be somewhat like the soul gems. You could be able to summon a creature once you have captured one. Would that really be so really devoted fan rage inducing bad?

Yes. You don't stuff the whole creature in that soulgem, you know. It's only its soul :teehee:
Summon a ghost or something from a soulgem? 'Kay, could fit with lore -- but the whole creature, flesh and all? Nah, man.
As mentioned earlier, the creature summoned has to be in some Realm you can open a portal/whatever to and drag it into this dimension. It would probably have to be whole for that - not just a soul.

.... But, and don't read this because it's stupid, it could perhaps be possible to stash some pets in Oblivion somewhere to be to your disposition later :turned:
