Would you like a Fallout Game with only 2 Classes?

Post » Sat Dec 05, 2015 3:27 am

1. Class would be with only Clothes/Light Armor and need to use V.A.T.S. and sneak to survive and also can only use Dual Pistols, Sniper Riffle, Shotgun and Grenades. This class can Lockpick but can't hack terminals.

2. Class would be with Power Armor which you never can leave. This class can never use V.A.T.S. and can only use Minigun, Rocket Launcher, Energyhammer + Shield, Dual Powerfists. This class can hack terminals but never can Lockpick.

If these are what you want to stick with, then give it a go.

Short answer: No. Long answer: Noooooooooooooooooo.

The Fallout series never had any classes just like GURPS of which it was inspired by and originally meant to be based on.

Rebel against the restriction of freedom inherent in the class system!

Fallout, Arcanum and Skyrim for freedom and awesomeness!

Why would you want to restrict yourself to that sort of ruleset for this kind of game?

You do you. I wouldn't wanna be restricted to a class system in a Fallout game. Lemme build my own unique blender of death and charisma.

I agree with all of the above. No classes not now - not ever. Give me the freedom to create my character the way I want.

No. Just, no.

If only because Power Armor/No Power Armor as classes is waaaay too restrictive for what can actually be done with or without PA. There are plenty of in-between ways to go about it, such as wearing heavy combat armor, stacking toughness, and have at it with a super-sledge or deathclaw gauntlet, or have a sneaky, stealthy sniper who wears power armor, what with the StealthBoy modification or jetpack to get into a sniper's nest.

Not at all, freedom of customization is one of the great things about Bethesda games.

I prefer old Roleplay Classe where your Hero can't master everything. Also you could have 2 different Gameplay Styles and 2 Different Stories.

I play all of the FO games that way, now. I don't need the game to force my character into a roll or hold him or her into it. I do that all on my own.

But why only two? The classic classes are Fighter, Wizard, Rogue. Power Armor you've built as a fighter, non-PA is the rogue... so what's the wizard?

And you already have a bunch of gameplay styles and tactics available without classes. A high Charisma character can literally stare down enemies, while a high agility character can be a stealth-sniper or backstabber. And, a character with 10 strength and 9 intellegence basically becomes a boss with Power Armor using the charge-and-drop-a-fusion-core-bomb tactic.

Let me think about it.

No.

Absolutely not.

Play your game how you want, though. But don't force your play style on me.

I want to play the game the way I want to play it, doing the things I want to do and improving the character in ways I find entertaining.

Limitation = bane of my existence.

Bethesda games don't roll that way. They don't handhold you. You can customize the game anyway you want, and if the basic game doesn't give you as many options as you want, Bethesda gives players the option to make and download mods.

That's one big reason why I don't care for Bioware games.

Only if i can switch between characters and companions during the game and if it were/ had more strategy civilization building. Like constant warfare involving your npc's.

I've tried to do strict roleplaying in skyrim but eventually just do everything. there's no real reason to not use magic or something. Sneak is great until you have to fight a boss and if thats all you got ur in trouble.
