Would you like to join Dagoth Ur given the chance?

Some people think that I'm arrogant.

Well, actually it's lots of people...lots and lots.

LOL Then I guess I am. I installed the Great House Dagoth mod, played through the main quest with my character joining Voryn and being 100% on his side, and have never played the vanilla main quest again (nor do I wish to).

Now if you will all excuse me, I have a corprus roast in the oven that I need to check on.

I'm possibly insane, but yes. I always feel really terrible for hurting poor old Dagoth Ur, and I would've really liked the option to help him out sometime, instead of going up against him. His beseeching speeches always get to me. If I was playing a character that shared my own moral standings, then I think not. But role-playing is all about variety of choices, after all, and I could sympathize with him enough to relate to a character that wants to help him out.

That depends - is it me or my character that's turning into a zombie abomination?

I don't think the poll shows that players want to be "evil" or "crazy" ... and people shouldn't vote based on that idea.
It's just that joining the Sixth House should have been another Faction in the game. Especially since Dagoth suggests you should work with him.

It would have been a great way to add more content to the game, and I have nooooo idea why people would vote against that.
People who voted No, are you saying that if it was a part of the vanilla game you would never ever make a character that joined Dagoth?

Well said. I won't get into my own character's reasons that she ended up joining House Dagoth, but being evil and/or crazy had absolutely nothing to do with it.

That's my point.
I find it odd that people are voting "no" to having more choices/content/quests in the vanilla game.

It very well might have been some of the cut content.
Bethesda never had time to do House Dres and House Indoril (and scrapped plans to include the mainland) so I bet the Sixth House was also planned at one time.

yes, the schedule pressure. just like skyrim's 11-11-11
but maybe comparing mw to skyrim's release date is a bit unfair though. because mw have been delayed multiple times before it finally released. that showed beth have more time to develop the game.
or maybe the delay time is still not enough to include pre-planned contents.

SK came out on 11-11-11 because Zenimax Media liked the sound of using that date as a marketing tool. They weren't going to let Bethesda delay the release, even though these days are the best times to do so, and was probably necessary. It HAD to come out that day, unfinished or no, simply because money.

Yes, it'd be interesting to see how I could get my characters to justify it though. Out of the three I've got now, I could maybe see two of them joining him in some way, though mostly it would be to gain power in the case of Acheron, my Telvanni or to [censored] with Azura in the case of my Redoran Tribunal follower, who isn't crazy at having his beliefs destroyed. That said, his ideals of justice and duty would mean he'd have to be going pretty far off the deep end for that to happen.

well, one of the possible reason to join ur is that you learned the truth about the crimes of tribunal from the ashlanders and dissident priests thus decided to go againts them.

Depending on the character, I'd love the chance. The story is so well built to make the good-guys and bad-guys of Red Mountain obscure.

I'd enjoy being able to join the 6th House, but for the sake of usurping Dagoth Ur's powers for my own character's selfish purposes, not for furthering his deranged plan. Of course, the power of the Heart of Lorkhan might corrupt the player character's own ideas and goals just as thoroughly, which would effectively convert the character into an NPC out of the player's control at some stage.

I'd enjoy it as a an option in the game. Dagoth Ur was one of the more interesting characters. As we commonly say, Dagoth Ur is only as evil as the Tribunal is good.

His vision was great, but his method was flawed. The Tribunal are no better, their methods are just as bad, and betraying Nerevar (how you interpret this is up to you), either by his dying wish or by actually betraying, for power.

You see how it affected them, in the face on inevitable loss of power, Vivec does not move into action, and Almalexia goes insane.

Yet Vivec is about the most powerful persona in the Elder Scrolls universe.

while ur got a leftover grim citadel, nerevar become an errand boy for a jealous aunt, alma got a lame city where no-fly is the rule around, and sotha...
he's dead.
vivec's rule alright..
