Would you like to see any mechanics from Skyrim?

Post » Tue Jun 25, 2013 2:06 am

So while playing Skyrim, I found that the wagon transit to major towns for a fee and sprinting to be ideas that would be wonderful ideas to implement in future Fallout games. However, I'm curious, what feature would you like to see added? Or would you not like to see any of these features merged with Fallout?

-Sprinting would be cool, as long as it costs AP to use.

-Wagon transport, its OK, but I think it might ruin the feel of "the apocalypse".

-Skyrim has many tasks for NPCs to do, like chopping wood, sawing logs, working at workbenches, that would be cool to see in Fallout 4.

But this thread seems like it should be part of the "fallout 4 suggestions" thread.

Sprinting would be nice to have and whatever such minor features. Nothing too game changing.

Sprint is a must, and maybe stationary transit could be hitching a ride with the merchants on top a Brahmin or something. It would be nice if it got interrupted by raiders occasionally to make it feel as if the journey was dangerous. Overall those are some nice mechanics. When I saw the dragons column I thought that it would be nice to have the chance of a boss fight at any time and place, but I'm not sure how to make it happen in Fallout.

Sprinting and stationary transit (that isn't just for the show, but an actually tangible gameplay mechanic) from those votes. Otherwise the series' should strive away from eachother as much as humanly possible.

It's not a 'Fallout 4 should have ____' thread. It's a thread specifically pertaining to the question of whether users would want to see Skyrim mechanics incorporated as well.

Honestly, I'd only go for sprinting to be implemented. Nothing else from Skyrim has much potential, for me anyway. The wagon idea could work though, if it was made to be dangerous in some way. The idea of raiders assaulting the wagon, or even just harassing it with potshots, seems to be in the right direction.

Sprinting is a solid and easily implemented concept. Tie your speed into agility and duration to endurance.

Water currents and Radiant quests.

But I'd rather see stuff from PN.

First person helmet overlays, sprinting, grenade hotkey and special visor modes for certain helmets.

Don't really care about any of the above.

Other:

"Protected" NPCs as opposed to essential NPCs

Sprinting and transit are the only gameplay mechanics I'd want.

I'd like to see more animations like this though, you could see NPC's rebuilding or farming, something that Fallout 3 was seriously lacking.

Welp, having the ability to pay a fee and be transported somewhere would be wonderful. It might be more fun, but walking around and never fast traveling can be a pain as well.

Though skills via doing them and dragonz. Hm. Burn it with fire before it breeds! Along with any who support it. This is not the witch trials people! This is the revolution. Now now, its not genocide if your sincere.

None of the above they need to be separate series, even having a sprint option will just blur the lines further.

At this point in time, pretty much everything that can be done in gaming, has been done, and adding in anything to Fallout 4 is going to make it like another game.

And not adding in things because they make games like other games, even if those things could make the game better, is kinda dumb.

I think one of the biggest jumps from Oblivion and Fallout 3 to Skyrim was the NPC's interactions with real world objects and how natural that appeared, it definitely made towns feel more alive at first glance although it was just a gimmick. I would like to see sprinting as well because it seems more necessary in a gun fight than a sword fight to me. But I voted for other because going backwards and playing older BGS games from before Skyrim what sticks out most to me is the NPC's wandering around in such a unnatural way.

The NPCs "interactivity" with the world didn't leave much of an impression on me. I'm always too busy doing quests to stop and look at things like that. I could take it or leave it.

I expect to see dual-wielding pistols, maybe SMGs too. And maybe some adaption of fighting flying enemies, perhaps even flying something yourself, seeing how Dragonborn added dragon riding. Then again, Oblivion had horses, and Fallout 3 had nothing rideable, so it's not assured by any means

Still wouldn't mind any of that  Just imagine: a jetpack-equipped Power Armor  I'm even more about "death from above" than i am about "you can't kill what you can't see"
