So, a characters pastime is pointless? Huh, now I wonder why I downloaded "Dovahkiin can relax too" for Skyrim.

Some sort of Caravan, but with a more ''illegal'' feel. In the trailer there's a scene where you can see a guy walking in the night in a city.
It gives the feel that the city may be something like Freeside (wich I would love to see, low-life criminals and such).
Maybe your opponents will attack you if they lose?
No. I live in Las Vegas and lost interest in gambling 25 years ago.
Give me some slots and Blackjack and I'll be happy.
It'd give me a reason to max my luck stat again. It was always fun getting jackpot after jackpot and hitting 21 on nearly every hand.
Yes but only if High Luck doesn't make it easy mode.
Ressurecting this thread.
Based on the E3 video, there seems to be some kind of arena fighting going on. We also have pip boy minigames now, so i believe they are paying attention to the entertainment thing. I'd like gambling to return, and i'm hopeful it's there.
Poker (texas hold em version)
black jack
roulette (regular not russian)
one armed bandit
some sort random dice game
all those games within fine casino where there is all manners of escorts and perhaps F.I.S.T.O or two
There should be no pre-war casinos like in new vegas. But some post-war ones maybe. If we use the 'like the 50s' argument gambling was still illegal in Massachusetts.
There isn't "like the 50s". Fallout is not based in the 50s but in a divergence with the real world timeline. The bombs fell in 2077.
Yes. In Fallout 2 there was also those ramshackle casinos with roulette and craps.
Fallout made me like blackjack. I was almost tempted to try that at a real casino but I would probably lose.
No reason not to have them, though a Vegas style casino would be a bit much. Probably would be offered at most bars or brothels, unless it is something like racing Molerats.
only if poker was playable. I really felt like the casinos in NV were mostly pointless with out there being poker.
I'm not really opposed to their being a gambling den, but I can't imagine my character frequenting one and don't see gambling in New Vegas as an argument for similar content in locations not known for gambling. Generally I'd rather resources were used for something more "Bostonian," but if a den is in, it won't distress me.
No. The fallout world is still something like the 50s. Music, clothing, culture... Everything of this is very 50s like. It's a 50s versions of 2077. Boston still has the Scollay Square for exemple.
This. Gambling new vegas style don't really fit into the Boston theme. Especially if it's inspired by the 50s Boston
I'd like to see a New Reno-style casino with mafia thugs acting as the armed guards, and perhaps poker being present. Love poker but not sure if it fits in a Fallout session, but who knows. I guess it's possible.
Would like to see Caravan return for sure, though.
no, there will be enough other mini games that will fill that type of niche
