Would You Like to See H2H back as a Skill and weapons made

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 1:50 pm

The least they could have done is consider H2H to be 1 handed fighting skill so it could skillup and use perks. I can understand if they didnt have budget to do a full tree for it, but completely cutting it out of the game is absurd especially considering Kajjits racial.

H2H doesn't even make sense. You can't punch a dragon to death, nope. You can't punch a heavily armored person to death, nope. You can't punch a Dwemer construct to death, nope.

If you're also going for plausibility you wouldn't be able to kill somebody in plate armour or a dwemer construct with a sword either.. by your logic therefore the only acceptable weapons in-game are maces and warhammers.

One can't really apply real world logic to a fantasy game. If that were the case, thieves wouldn't be able to backstab dragons and dwemer constructs, and arrows certainly wouldn't destroy half of the creatures within Skyrim. I enjoyed the far-eastern monk archetypes in many rpgs, and even Oblivion had the cloud ruler temple, akaviri weaponry, and a de facto faction of monks. I mean, even some Samurai-monk hybrid would be fine by me. I just like the idea of being able to do some Kill Bill tomfoolery by training in temples and honing body and fist.

I just think it's entirely plausible in a high fantasy setting to have individuals use hand to hand, and take some path of a martial arts warrior. They're integral in the forgotten realms series, and most mmos. Not sure why it couldn't apply here.

Even though I don't use it, I cannot understand why it was left out...

I could see it working if stuff like punch-knives and ninja claws, and a whole new perk tree with things like disarming, even strangulation were introduced (sneaking up on a bandit and strangling him to death would be pretty awesome). But how many people really used H2H often?I certainly didn't.

Yeah, definitely need it, and a few other skills back. Mods FTW.

What couldve been expanded and made interesting was, as with most of the features, removed.

They couldve made it a skill for monk type characters and create fist weapons.
Hand to hand has the only finishers worth watching in my opinion.

the combat in TES games is nowhere near realistic.

Well yeah, or else the first time you got pinged in the head with an arrow it would be game over.

(insert arrow to the knee joke here)

Hand to Hand has some excellent finishers and I've always preferred using H2H for my archer-type characters just to add in the extra level of difficulty. I'd love to see it make a come-back.

I want hand to hand weapons. They could put them in the 1 handed weapon category though and that would be fine.

My Khajit beat a bear to death with his enchanted fightin' gloves. Seemed wrong.

Definitely. I loved my unarmed character in FO3, nothing like taking down a Super Mutant Behemoth with your bare hands. I can't bring myself to make a H2H character in Skyrim though. Too many restrictions.

Wait, they made hand to hand finishers yet got rid of the skill? That makes no sense....

As for the question, yes I want H2H back.

Yes.

By some stroke of genius, Beth made certain two-handed and one-handed perks effect hand to hand.....but using hand to hand does not raise either of these skills, nor does the game tell you it effects your fists. Other than to have six skills in each archetype, I don't see why they took hand to hand out.

How do one and two handed perks effect H2H? Your telling me that I can decapitate with my hands?

Some perks Ive thought up to go with the skill, many are simply same effect as another with more of a fist theme.

Brawler: The same as the Armsman, Barbarian, or Overdraw perks.
Gauntlets of Power: Can give gauntlets the same enchantments as weapons, i.e. Fire Damage, Absorb Health.
Fists of Fury: The same as the Dual Flurry perk.
Boxer's Stance: Same as the Fighting Stance or Champion's Stance perks.
Precise Strikes: Same as the Bladesman, Deep Wounds, or Critical Shot perks.
Evasion: Same as the Deft Movement perk, but would have up to 3 levels: 10% / 25% / 40%.
??: Same as the Fists of Steel perk, but would be for Light gauntlets.

No, I'm telling you it effects damage. Not ALL the perks effect it, but the basic "X more damage and X less stamina cost" do.

Dwemer constructs would be terrible to fight. Plate armor has weak spots, and no, you can't really punch joints covered in chainmail.

Chainmail don't protect you from blunt weapons or fists.
