It makes a good "haha" or "WTF?" moment. Like when they do a backflip off a rail because they got sniped or when they get caught by their foot and hang off a ledge.............really funny. Or if your shooting and a body flying horizontally across your screen doing a cartwheel in the air after being blown up cracks me up. But for Brink? Not so sure..........

Awww, come on, Devil. Where's your sense of humor? -_- Imagine a Heavy attempting to SMART a wall to do a wall-hop....now imagine him trying to SMART with extreme ragdoll. *boing!*

My problem with ragdoll is that they don't just go limp...they go flying across the map/do flips/etc., as Rev's link shows. There isn't ragdoll in Brink because character's have to land on their back in an incapped postion in order to be revived.

Yeah...but sometimes that can be extremely funny and truthfully make my night or week when it comes to gaming. Like I said...nothing says funny like a body flying past you doing Mach 8 into the side of a building.

If it was an optional thing that you would put on if you were feeling like a laugh and not being really competitive that day

That's the big problem...people think shotgun slugs carry bodies...in fact it'd just tear right through the person, and the person would just fall limp...he wouldn't go flying.

They wouldn't even go through. They'd rather stay inside your body and possibly kill you, if you manage to survive the bleeding.

In my opinion it wouldn't fit in Brink, cause theres already the incap animation, which is shown in the "Ready and Able" video where an enemy is incapped while falling he remains in the incapped animation.

Also, that Overgrowth video was pretty interesting, it was the closest thing to "realistic" ragdoll.

The Overgrowth-Video pretty much showed how well Ragdolls could work in BRINK, by fluently blending the ragdoll over into the incapp-animation.

Slugs may do either, depending on the range and where the person was shot.

Buckshot will never go through.

Ragdoll effects are getting better, soon we will see them with the real constraints of the body they are portraying as now dead, and we will also start to see in a few years rag dolls that are affected by the animation prior to death with respect to muscle contraction, and in these cases we will start to very realistic death ragdolling.

The Euforia engine most likely will handle this sooner rather then later.

Euphoria basilcy does this already. It diversifies into body and skeleton and technically also muscles (but this is neither used in GTA IV nor Red Dead Redemtpion, afaik).

Considering that ragdolls don't really make a game any better or worse I'm not really all that bothered. Other than looking nice ragdolls don't really do anything.
