Would you like to see mounts or vehicles?

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 12:29 pm

Wandering the open wasteland seems like the perfect fit to have a horse or some type of mount to get around. Bethseda has had them in the TES games since Oblivion and I think they'd fit right in Fallout 4.

Vehicles I think could work as well depending on how they handle the survival elements.

Personally I'd like both to require some form of upkeep.

Mounts could require both Water and food, vehicles would require fuel and upkeep. With both able to take damage/breakdown.

I think if they required those kinds of things it'd really fit in, provide some nice money sinks and fit within the setting just fine.

Do horses even exist in the Fallout Universe anymore?

It would be a nice option, but I would prefer to walk and take in the scenery.

just re-iterating my thoughts from another thread to this, more appropriate, thread.

  • Adding vehicles would add another aspect to the game and as you stated, a money sink.
  • By the end of the game you have quick travel anyway so this would actually be a more fun game mechanic/addition that would also open up the option of different mission types and world events.
  • We had vehicles in Fallout 1 2 and tactics.
  • Mate/Companion hanging off the side spraying lead, or dropping Anti-Vehicle mines while being chased!

Problems and Solutions:

The Sandbox would have to be Huge - or make the vehicles slow, inefficient and weak with late game mechanics enabling you to buy engine upgrades or required suspension for going over rough terrain etc.

Horses are extinct, and I wouldn't go riding around on Brahmin for too long if you see what I'm getting at.

Not supposed to [eaten up], though Darkhorse messed up and included horses in the comic book for New Vegas.

I would like to see vehicles, and ~possibly limited mounts; sans rule of cool, if you please.

I'd settle for a golf cart, or a segway.

Well....

...jet pack that can be use as a combat tactical purpose as well as a travel device that will be needing gasoline to fly around . Also enemies can use it, so the challenge in combat situations be more interesting and challenging.

Hell Yes! http://madmaxmovies.com/forum/download/file.php?id=3393

It's a full sequel, a completely new game mechanic like a travel vehicle would be great. It already kinda looks like a rehash visually, but I'm in full hopes that it won't play like a rehash....bringing in fresh ideas to Fall Out.

I don't care one way or the other, but if they do have cars or horses I'm fine with it. But it's not a must for me.

There's not alot of guzzoline left in the US. Alot of vehicles switched to fission or fusion, infact in the trailer inside the Vertibird we get a glimpse of a gas station sign. Red Rocket, gasoline, diesel and fusion. A hard enough crash would end the driver's life and ruin a stretch of the road too. I think I remember reading about Fallout 2 not allowing cars in settlements because people were afraid of old fuel cells exploding the vehicle.

I love the rideable motorcycle mod in Fallout 3. I think it would be great if something similar would be included in Fallout 4.

I'd love a vehicle or a mount. Even more reason not to fast-travel! Although it may be hard for them to do something like a Highwayman for the heavily urbanized areas, and back alleys and whatnot. Wouldn't mind sharing a motorcycle with a companion. And riding around the Wasteland with my dog in a sidecar would just be awesome.

I will say I'm hoping to see 1 car or maybe 3 cars in total in Fallout 4.

I want to see some golf carts that work, maybe 2? Maybe 1 motorcycle that works?

If there are any bicycles that have not rusted and don't have flat tires then we should be able to ride bicycles.

After a nuclear war though I doubt rubber lasted long enough for car, motorcycle or any types of vehicles to have that are not deflated tires. Maybe we can collect natural rubber from somewhere to craft tires.

Unless there are bicycles that were not stored in a environment with no moisture and a clean atmosphere after a nuclear war most vehicles should be rusted and not in working conditions.

No way you will get a expensive bicycle or a luxury car that is clean and in a functional working condition. Especially bicycles. They should be so rusted that the paint is flaking off and the tires are deflated and especially if it's after 200 years after nuclear bombs exploded.
