Would You Like Special Power Armor?

Hrm the S.P.B. (Soggy Paper Bag) Power Armour as a homage to F3's, weak power armour.

Sorry I haven't been responding, guys. Been away for a day or two. Anyway, it seems like most people get what I'm talking about. I hate to say it, but it's very similar to the exoskeleton from Advanced Warfare (dear god, why?). Most people here seem to get my idea. Calling it power armor isn't really correct. It's a power suit.

a bulkier, bigger power armor with light artillery incorporated into the armor.

the Hulkbuster version of fallout power armor.

I'd like to see a suit that looks like it belongs on a construction site. Something along the lines of a repurposed civy unit.

They probably wouldn't have to get anything from the Enclave. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if a lot of the technology in power armor was originally developed at MIT. Seeing as how MIT seems to have survived as the Institute and retained their scientific nature, they could easily have access to that old research. They could have spent the past 200 years taking that power armor research in an entirely different direction from the Enclave or pre-war armor.

That is a very good point, although we definitely have *some* enclave involvement, looking at the X-01 armor. What I'm wondering now is if the Enclave had some sort of friendly contact with the Midwestern Brotherhood, giving them (the brotherhood) the inferior armor we see in F3. But now I'm getting off topic...

I do hope (and believe) we'll see something new. As you said, if any place could make new power armor models, it's the guys churning out terminators.

I'm just hoping you don't need bulky power armor to fight deathclaws this time around.

Exactly what I was associating it with.

But I'll just say, I'm glad Fallout doesn't take inspiration from the pony stuff.

Actually, the Enclave may have gotten their "black devil" Advanced Power Armor Mk II designs from the Midwestern BoS. Fallout Tactics took place in 2197-2198. Fallout 2 took place in 2241, and after getting their asses kicked, while heading east the Enclave may have come across the Midwestern BoS, and traded tech with them. Hence the look of the Enclave Power Armor in Fallout 3. Plus, in the Lonesome Road DLC, ED-E mentions that there's an Enclave outpost in Chicago, which is where the Midwestern BoS has their original base. Now, in Fallout 4 we have a BoS that uses both Vertibirds (Enclave tech) and a Zeppelin (which only the MW BoS is known to have used before).

Pleasure to hear such thinking, I hope if it isn't in the game your ideas make their way into a mod to give us more choice for armor options, in which to explore and rebuild this world.

I think different types of exoskeletons would be cool. Power Armor, P-5000 Work Loader from Alien, Power Legs for running and jumping etc. It would be cool to be able to mod your PA to those extremes. Just take the parts you need.

Did they ever explain where that power armor came from? Everything you said was really interesting, but I can't imagine the MWBOS creating their own power armor without Enclave help.

Honestly, I hope they don't but the thought is still in my mind. The scorpion tail makes sense for the Enclave armor in FOE but for the main Fallout series? It most likely won't and would be a terrible design idea... I just can't get the thought of just seeing it out of my head and I kinda WANT to see it for the fun of it.

This is the true. The idea of the scorpion tail in the story was to give the user another weapon to use, especially when they get into melee combat... (If the target wasn't scared in the first place, which was another point of the tail. To make the armor look more menacing in battle).

Nobody has mentioned MIT yet, im sure they might have some futuristic(retro futuristic) PA locked away in a basment, maybe they got bored of that project and started working on the androids.

I don't think I would use it but would like to see it in action and try it out. I prefer the sneaky sniper or loner cowboy character model and the big bulky armor just doesn't fit. I don't use power armor often but when I do I prefer the exo-skeleton.

You could argue that the realism of power armour is null anyway - an unpadded, 10 ton stack of armour with a man inside thrusting up? That doesn't sound good to begin with, servos and all.
Fallout doesnt strive to be completely realistic, anyway. That being the case. I'd like to see some form of stealth power armour that just barely covered the exoskeleton. That it could have a built in stealth boy and cloack for periods of time or allow for better athletics.
It'd be interesting to see but i doubt we'll see anything like that unless either mods or dlc say otherwise

Yup. Perhaps you head that way, considering that game has no bearing on anything being discussed.
