Would you pay for a patch for Skyrim Multiplayer ?

Post » Tue Sep 22, 2009 10:09 pm

Even if people are not willing to play a multiplayer skyrim they dont have to cause I would pay for a multiplayer patch so it would be....Well I guess I ment DLC and Multiplayer being any sort of human gameplay...The question is multiple choice....Im new to all this...

No.

Why create patch or DLC to Skyrim if it would require huge amount of work. Not only they would need to code entire structure for multiplayer support, servers, clients and such.
And only for DLC which costs around 15 - 20 tops?

And the time which coders could spend improving/polishing game... No.

Well I wouldn't want it at all. Bordering on against the notion even.

So naturally I voted no.

I don't play Oblivion to have 12 year olds accuse me of being of a different sixual orientation, or to watch them crouch repeatedly over my corpse. I might look into an MMO, but only if it's a totally separate beast from the main series.

so ya think the game is set to where they dont want multiplayer? or is it possible? It could be a hit or miss for the developers!

Depends if its good quality or not, I'd rather there be no multiplayer though. And that'd most likely be released as DLC, not in a patch, since a patch is essentially to fix things.

I wouldn't mind a way to show off my character. A way to compare stats and that.

There is entire market for Multiplayer RPGs you there. Why compete with them if you have your own market where your game shines?

Multiplayer as afterthought or just planned DLC would require a lot of coding, mostly to game engine itself like da mage said. This would
take a lot of time and work effort. And it could even cripple the engine and just create load of new bugs and issues for those playing singleplayer as well.

Any multiplayer. Ok, maybe Split-screen mode for consoles would be easier to make, but still it would require recoding the engine.

I say no for any multiplayer support. Rather make the engine run smoothly and bug free.

Maybe a online character database? Didn't Dragon Age do something similar to that? To show of your armor and weapons and whatnot. I wouldn't mind that.

Should work, but what about mods? Once you get that sweet new armor set and race mod, your character database would not be able to get that data from anywhere.
Again, this might work better on consoles, but would it make any difference when you can just post picture from your stats and character?

Is there anyway the game can take a upfront shot of your character everytime you get on and send that to the database?

It might work that way. If I remember right, that was the way how Dragon Age did it. At least character was in picture format.
But would the items and racial stats work? Those might be able to be fetched by some way...

I would most definitely pay money to have a MP patch. As long as the multiplayer allows a few friends and I to explore dungeons and complete quests then I'd be all for it. Oblivion was an amazing game, but one of the main things I felt could make it better would be the addition of MP, so I can share this great game with others who enjoy it.
