I wonder what lesson it is this guy speaks off, I've loved all the TES games ;)
Anyway I chose other because I hope the game will NOT be a buggy mess on release. If it is, well I'll just let them patch it later! :D

Modding communities can fix bugs better than Bethesda, so I say bring it as early as possible.

That's assuming there are modding tools available, which is the most likely reason why I'll delay the purchase (that is, assuming it will even run on my system ... which could delay it further or even prevent it alltogether in the worst case). This was the case for both Oblivion and Fallout 3 - I didn't buy either until we could mod properly.

I;m sure it's been in development long enough to not be too buggy.

It depends how buggy it is when it's released.

Personally, I'm thinking that Bethesda should already have enough time to get rid of most serious problems before release. Also, I had no big problems with the previous games made my BGS, be it Morrowind, Oblivion or even Fallout 3.

Coupled with the fact that, IMO, TES games are very awesome, I will buy it on release day (in my country that is) if I have the time.

"Have you finally lernt your lesson, and will wait 2 weeks or more for User reviews for Skyrim"

WTH? What are you doing on an Elder Scrolls forum! It always amazes me how there are people who supposedly are fans but are so sceptical towards the games that they even consider not getting the new game. Don't get me wrong, you have all the right to be here, but this is just my opinion, that it feels strange to me.

OT: they can always fix it with patches and personally I don't mind bugs. So obviously I want them to release 11/11/11 even in an unfinished state. I just can't wait any longer.

Skyrim has been 4 years in secret development from what I have heard and Bethesda have built it from the ground up with a new engine so I have high hopes.

It depends on the type of bugs. FO:NV's level of bugginess is highest level I'd like to have to deal with if I have to deal with any at all. I can deal with infrequent CTDs. Bethesda should be testing the MQ and Guild quests to make sure there are no game ending bugs along the way, though a few undiscovered side quest bugs are to be expected.

didn't i already make a thread like this? :turned:
i agree though, if they are not ready then they shouldn't give it to us until its perfect and meets most of our expectations.

I thought I'd seen this thread before!
I'll put the same answer I did in the last thread: if they want to postpone it, then fine - I can't play on the day of release anyway (though I will preorder, frankly in games like this I expect a few bugs). However the fact that they were so confident as to give us a release date on announcement makes me think everything should be on track.

Funnily enough, I've never come across a glitch in any of the TES games I've played with the possible exception of Daggerfall. Although, I'm quite sure since the engine is new the game won't be as buggy as its predecessors. Then again, if I'm still lucky I might not have any issues with Skyrim either!

No, bugs are part of the fun! As long as I quick save often they're not a problem.

Except of course, for quest breaking bugs, [censored] those.

Hell I wish the game came out BEFORE 11.11.11 I mean I would think 5 years is enough to finish and polish up a game and de bug even the most bugs that always come back and even than I am fine waiting for a patch, if the game doesn't freeze every 2 mins than I am fine

Depends on how buggy and unstable it is. If Bethesda say they need time to debug it, then let them of course. But they have been at this for a while, already.

Is this thread automatically assuming that if it's released on time it will be much more buggy than if it's delayed 6 months?

Yes
we are assuming it will be released on 11.11.11 but I am sure no one wants to think how high the probability is that it will be released EVERYWHERE on 11.11.11 specially since games in the US just tend to release on 2 different day: Nintendo games are sometimes released on Saturdays/Sundays and other games are released on Tuesdays not Fridays

^ This. Though I'm probably not going to be able to get it at release anyway seeing as I have to both get a new computer first AND scrounge up the 60 or so dollars a new game usually costs. In all likelihood I'll end up getting Skyrim when the Game of the Year edition gets released.

If they felt they could make the game so much better by delaying it six months, then I would be for it. It's not so much I question of bugs specifcally for me, it's more a question of making it the best game that they can.

The only game I've had issues with enough to complain is New Vegas. And I know thats Obsidian's angle more than Beths.

Personally I KNOW I'm far far too impatient to wait. I'm probably going to talk my local Game into doing a midnight launch if they're not already. :D

Considering I never had half the problems others did with Morrowind or Oblivion, I think I'll stick to getting the game right away and wanting it not to get pushed back.

This game is the first that was announced by Bethesda that had an actual date of release upon announcement. It is also the shortest time between announcement and release for the company to date. Those two things and Todd saying he was ready to show it last summer (before we knew for sure what "it" was" makes me believe this game is already far advanced. It's been 5 years since Oblivion's release and I suspect they started pre-production at that point. I think when they announced it they had a good grasp on when it would be ready for release on the date they announced.

As far as bugs go, I am also sure there will be some but I have great doubts it will be infested with them.
