Pretty much a deal-breaker if 3rd person were removed,
though seems unlikely.

Probably, but I have doubts I would actually finish it. I have a tendency to switch back and forth between first and third person. Remove that ability, and it'll drive me up the wall...eventually, I'll wind up putting the game down in favor of one that (hopefully) allows me to switch back and forth. If I can't find one...there are other things in life I can occupy my time with.
Personally I despise using 3rd person for anything other than checkin around corners or checkin out my armor. I for whatever bizarre reason have a lot of trouble fighting and picking things up in 3rd person it always makes me feel like it just was not how the game was designed. Almost like 3rd was a extra feature rather than a legit style.
I'd still buy the game, but I'd be very disappointed, myself. I play Bethesda's games almost entirely in third-person (beyond finding it handy to switch to first-person to check through the items on a shelf or get a closer look at something interesting.) And I tend to gravitate toward third-person games in general. I just find it more immersive to be able to see my character in the game world, and find I have a better sense of my physical location when I can see where I actually am in the game world - I don't generally do well with doorways and stairs in first-person and find nothing brings me out of a game quite like playing a tunnel-visioned character with no peripheral vision and a penchant for walking around with their hands at shoulder-level.
But I haven't let that keep me from playing a good game in the past. I was able to look past my dislike for first-person perspective in Deus Ex, for example.
I replaying FO3 now and mostly do the fights in first person because of the iron sights, Skyrim and FO3 I played mostly in 3rd person except sniping.
why would they take 3rd person out? its a single player game, and the few times you can exploit it in Fallout NV your so close to anything hositile will auto-detects you and boom
Absolutely I'd still play it. Skyrim lost a few combat features because they had to cater to the janky third person mode.
never played a minute in 3rd person, so wouldn't bother me at all. never been a fan of it, and usually don't buy games that only play in third person.
They will not remove 3rd person from fallout 4, besides first person is for call of duty anyways, fallout games don't deserve just first person.
I think I would buy it. But I would be severely disappointed. And I'm not sure how long I would play the game. Probably not very long.
