Would you still buy TES:V Skyrim (for PC) if there were no m

Seeing as they haven't spoken about mods for the PC (which I'm sure there will be), this should make them rethink any silly decisions they may be considering. :toughninja:

Yes, but not at full price.

I'd still get the PC version though.

Of course. I don't buy games just to mod them.

It's almost a given that Pc will have mods. The ability to mod is what often doubles PC sales. A dig through the forums will find many users who purchased the console version and then later got the PC version 'just for the mods'

Plus modding also keep games -and not just Bethesda games- popular long after sequels have released. Look at the Morrowind modding community.

If they don't let us mod the PC version, I will cry. I mean it.

I would be VERY disappointed, but I'd buy the game for PC anyway.

Yes, I would buy it anyway.

I honestly can't fathom even for a second that they'd release a TES game without a CS.

Yeah, I'd still buy it for PC, I like the idea of being able to take it with me on my laptop (assuming my laptop would be able to run it), where as a console needs a TV.

I usually buy Elder Scrolls and Fallout games for the console until I can upgrade my PC to handle them. But if there were no mod support, I wouldn't buy the PC version, since that's what I usually buy them for.

I would be very annoyed. I mean, TES games are great, but the replayability without deep roleplaying is very small. I mean, you might be 5 playthroughs of it before you get bored. Once you finish playing through the game as every major archetype, mods really add spice to the game. For instance, Oblivion was an amazing game, but I know for sure that I would not still be playing it today if it was not for the modding community.

Yes I'd still buy it, but I would not be in a good mood to say the least. But that's not gonna happen. :)

I'm a PC gamer, so yes, I would buy the game even if it didn't have mods.
I'd be pretty disappointed, though. Mods are what make the TES series last as long as they do.

I'd still buy it, but I'd definitely wait for a GOTY version to come out, or until the price gets reduced significantly. I would certainly not spend my money on the CE if they pull a stunt like that.

Another crappy, crappy poll... I really wish people would stop making polls with these arbitrary and stupid answers when it comes to such an open subject.

Yes, I'd still buy it. It's just that I doubt that Skyrim will have a longer lifespan that way. Surely Beth wouldn't be that stupid as to not release modding tools. That'd be suicide for them.

Short answer: nope. :)

Long answer: I wouldn't buy a TES game on PC on launch - I prefer the console, easier for me to immerse myself. I usually buy the PC version long after I've finished playing the console version, so that I can play again on another platform while exploring the various mods the community will have produced in the interim.

I bought my PC for Oblivion to use mods, if there is no mods then I would buy it used for a console out of disgust.

Well, seeing as the PC version still has the advantages of playing in resolutions higher than 1280x720 and running on absolute max with no sweat, then I'd say yes.

Also, I'm sure there will be some way to mod the game even without a mod maker. Take S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for instance. The game itself doesn't really have an SDK like The Elder Scrolls or Fallout have, but it's probably got the 2nd largest modding community next to Bethesda's. And most of the modding there is done just by script and config editing. It's like Archive Invalidation but with game files instead of textures and meshes.

:| Well that's just nonsense. You can't make a poll have every answer, and this one will get the point across to Bethesda that it would be suicide, just incase they were considering it. I doubt that, and I'm sure everyone else does, but that's notwithstanding? And Stupid answers? In what way?

Probably not

If there is no console as well no mods, definitely not. console and user-made mods are what make getting the PC version worth it.

Yes, but i'd be annoyed.

Mods aren't what made Oblivion Awesome, in my opinion, but are what kept fans attached and playing to this day, myself included. the fact i still play the 5 year old game is the reason i will pre order the CE, and may contribute to the amount of hype this game has pre-release. I think Beth might rely on the modding community more than we realize, look at New Vegas. mods accomplished most the the "new" features in NV, and i don't think NV would have been all that great without that inspiration.

(we could also argue that Iron Sights mod is smoother than NV's version, and that NV was not created and scripted by Bethesda, here, but base points remain)
