I'm not much for killing random people, so I guess this wouldn't be a huge factor for me.

I'd rather have aggressive NPCs surrender after their defeat became clear, and the player given the option to show mercy or to finish them off, and actually have potential consequences for being a bit too bloodthirsty or a little too light handed.

Would you still kill people if there was a new game engine were the npc's in the game grieved for the lost like in real life, and you could see the the sadness in a family when a member died, or would this be too much too implement in a game, i think that the only reason that poeple enjoy killing so much in games is because its not real, what do you guys think?

I think the funerals and grieving, just like the NPCs they were theatrics for, wouldn't be real. Let the random butchery continue!

Yes I would still kill them. But Idoubt they would do this. Because throughout skyrim, like oblivion, you will most likely kill quite a few civilians. This would mean that for most of the people you kill (most people have partners and friends) there would be too many people greving most of the way through the game and it would probably get repetitive and annoying

Aye. Where Oblivion gave us "I saw a mudcrab the other day..." Skyrim under this "funerals and grieving" system would give us "My [spouse/sibling/parent/neighbor] died last week..." with about the same frequency, and becoming about the same level of unintentional comedy.

I came up with another question.
You are playing skyrim and you really need to upgrade to an ebony longsword to finish a quest, but you do not have the money to buy the sword, however you found a glitch in the internet where you can kill this npc to get infifnite money. This npc is an old women nord that works outside the city selling horses so no one will notice, but this glitch will only work if you kill her using hand to hand, you find out that when you go for the first punch she gives a low scream, so you start to beat her up but for every punch she screams a little louder and on the on the 6th punch she really is screaming kind of loud, therefore, do you try to finish her off until she stops the screaming or do you become so anoyed that you find another way to get the money.

I'd still kill. I generally feel bad when I kill an NPC, but it's still kind of funny.

I would rather have a bigger problem killing a lonley old women that lived outside of town then killing a person with a family.

or would this be too much too implement in a game

If it's not too much to implement in a movie or a book or TV then it's not too much to implement into a game. Games should express as much of real life as possible while still maintaining the unique story or theme. It's what make games come to life.
