would you still kill them

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:54 pm

Would you still kill people if there was a new game engine were the npc's in the game grieved for the lost like in real life, and you could see the the sadness in a family when a member died, or would this be too much too implement in a game, i think that the only reason that poeple enjoy killing so much in games is because its not real, what do you guys think?

I don't randomly kill NPCs anyway - but I do think that mourning/funerals would be a great addition.

Well, I don't usually kill people anyway seeing as my characters are usually Goody-Two-Shoes people, but, the characters I have that do kill are cold-hearted and ruthless assassins so no... though it would make the experience more realistic.

If I feel they deserve it, then I will kill them
Perhaps I'm doing their digital family a favor!

It would add some realism, like seeing a posting on the town board about a funeral at such and such time. Then you could go steal everyone's stuff while at said funeral haha

what about if these families were now seeking revenge and you would have to be in the look out for someone trying to kill you all the time, i think that would make things more interesting.

I don't know why I never thought of this! This would make my decision to join the dark brotherhood much harder and more serious. And whenever I thought about commiting murder to someone because they made a comment on something I don't like.

One of the reasons I never played a bad character in DA or the Mass effect series is because I always felt so cruel and evil, when I was cruel and evil. It was convincing, and I sort of felt bad after doing something mean. I wouldn't say "Oh noes! What have I done!", but I get kind of a :sadvaultboy: feeling.

The only thing that might hold me back from slaughtering the lot of them, would be that no one would fear me, cause everyone would be dead!. So for now, ill slay just a few.

If I went around killing all the NPCs thered be no one left to talk to and everything would be a ghost town and I would be alone in my game world. Nah....
But yes more emotions and dialogue to express how they feel. Definately.

I always felt a lack of connection with the characters in Oblivion, maybe they might have better writers, I doubt it though.

I mean there wasn't any feeling in oblivion whenever you killed an npc, like that one glitch where you kill the guy and get a bunch of money, what if you actually had to think about that persons life, how could it affect you. Also im actually surprised at how many people would kill them even harder, i guess its one of those things were people get pleasure from the suffereing of others, or like when a little kid laughs whenever somebody injures themselfs. better them, not me

Yes I would still kill them. But Idoubt they would do this. Because throughout skyrim, like oblivion, you will most likely kill quite a few civilians. This would mean that for most of the people you kill (most people have partners and friends) there would be too many people greving most of the way through the game and it would probably get repetitive and annoying

I have a thing about killing NPCs. I can't do it, they can be static, I'd still have a problem killing them. So if they had funeral and got emo it wouldn't effect me that much.

Sure. I only kill NPCs if they're asswipes to me anyways.

For example, in the Skingrad mage's guild quest when you have to rescue the guy from the cave full of zombies, I slaughtered them all and saved his sorry ass, stopping on the way out to pick up a potion I found. It must have counted as stealing, because as soon as I got him back to the guild he said "what do YOU want?" and scowled at me, right after I'd rescued him from an eternity of walking the Earth in search of human flesh! Needless to say I took him upstairs and burned that svcka to a crisp.

If you were talking about me I was just kidding. I'm actually very nice in real life  But I do like to take the occasional cold-blooded serial killer path in an rpg

Probably will still (do a save first, then) commit mass murder on the cities.
