would you use an available map tool?

I know this has been talked about but I would love to see a Timesplitters syle map creation tool for this game.

even if the maps were submitted to SD and the best bundled as dlc every month or so...

who would actually use one to make maps?

your votes please

If there was such a tool, and I could use it (I play on PS3, and the only computer I have access to is my flatmate's Mac (and I wouldn't be allowed to install anything onto it)...

I'd be totally making maps.

If it was similar to the tool found in Timeplitters: FP, then definitely. Timesplitters, and its art style in particular, was one of the defining preconceptions about Brink, which ultimately resulted in my purchase. Not sure how SD would fit it onto 360 or PS3, what with no lobby system...

Considering how much time I spent creating maps in Far Cry 2 and Halo: Reach, it's a safe bet I would spend weeks of my life creating maps for Brink.

Sure. I spent hours upon hours using various map creator tools for CS, and loved building maps for games like Timesplitters (much easier map tools, but still a lot of fun) so why not.

I would - but there is a down side to player made content which is to find that diamond map in the rough you have to shift through heaps and heaps of crap. It seems to me that Bethesda/SD have such a finely crafted vision of what BRINK gameplay is supposed to be that I doubt they would open it up for anyone to develop for.

yeah, i think you are right ...that is why i thought we could submit maps to SD and they could publish.... if they make the grade....

maybe a quaterly competition to make maps for a regular dlc....

even a simplified set of lego style blocks to drop into some pre-made floorplans would be better than nothing....

I do think that modding tools would turn this game into a real phoenomenom.....with new texture sets you could make the shooters you always wanted to play!(imho)

Yes, yes, Yes I spent so much time mapping and I love valves way of buying the best maps from the creators to give out in a dlc

I think this game would flourish if maps from the community were possible

Nah, I don't think they worry about that. Bethesda has long supported construction sets as part of their games.

It really would be awesome. A great way for folks to individualize their games to their personal tastes.

I was never able to make sense of Fallout 3's G.E.C.K or the Valve's Hammer.
