Would you be willing to wait?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 5:22 am

There is not very much that they could accomplish in one month by pushing the date back.

I'd much rather play a version of Skyrim on 11.11.11 that is riddled with glitches, bugs and balance problems than to wait even one more day.

He's actually suggesting if there was a delay of 13 months, not one month.

Which is probably why the OP was talking about pushing it back longer than that:

I can feel the flames already.I already know there is a 0 percent chance this will happen but I'm curious to see what others think about this.Would you be willing for Skyrim to be pushed back to 12/12/12 IF it meant full DirectX 11 support on every level for PC users including Tessellation in the game?

11-11-11 to 12-12-12 isn't a month, it's 13 of'em...a month longer than a year.

Which, as others have mentioned, would be the beginning of the slippery slope down to "Duke Skyrim Forever."

Over a years worth of polishing the game and bug testing.
Twice as many new custom armor/weapon sets and as many choices for character customization as well.
PC Mods (of some scale) definitely being downloadable for Consoles.
The ability to capture/ride dragons.
Another year for Bethesda to develop a living economy within the game.
Whatever else you come up with.

If you answered No which I'm quite sure 99.99% of you did before even posting this thread then enough said.

BUT.....

If you happened to answer Maybe or Absolutely then please post what you would want to see or would expect to see from such an atrocity happening.

Hell no! Not even DX11 will take me away from skyrim!

One does not simply patch their way into new content.

Nor does one DLC their way into things like 2x the character customization.

As long as it's great and I don't look back on it, like Oblivion, with contempt at the glaring flaws in design. (level scaling, voice acting, layout of the world, etc...).

I can wait.

I wasn't aware he's been playing one long song this whole time. Props to him though, probably hard to sing when your vocal cords have been rotting for three decades.

OOPS! miscalculated that :brokencomputer:

In that case HAIL NO!

I love tesselation and pretty graphics but there is no freaking way I would be willing to wait another month, let alone an entire year!

I'm too excited about Skyrim.

The more relevant question is "Would Bethesda be willing to wait?"

To answer the actual poll, no I wouldn't wait. The game will never be perfect no matter how much time they spend on it, and I need my new TES fix now. And releasing it on time would give them an extra year to work on the next one.

This
There would always be something else to add and Bethesda need to release and sell stuff to stay in business
