Would Your Hometown Survive?

I could see my hometown surviving. We could hunt squirrels and deer for food, and there are a few streams around. :gun:

My hometown would almost definantly survive.

I live in the ass end of nowhere with no possible target for many, many miles.

There are also decently high hills surrounding the area I live in (which made it a very tactical position during the American Revolutionary War) which would keep out and radiation if it were to get close to this area.

And we have a hydroelectric plant and plenty of farms so if there is a short or no nuclear winter we will have food and electricity.

I think my town was pretty much set up to become a very prosperous place after an apocalypse.

EDIT: To go with my early statement of their being a lot of farms 80% of people in my town are either farmers or hunters so that's all set.

All we need is a centeral government.

Many people already call my area a wasteland because of many industrial ruins around, and in general, Upper Silesia is the land of coal mines and metalworks - many of them are, unfortunately, closed... But yes, I could see the society here survive. Many places to find shelter, many shops to scavenge... water would be problematic, though, it's already polluted as hell ;D

We'd get wiped out. We're just down the river from a major city, less than 30 minutes from a large military base, almost across the hedgerows from a nuclear power station, and have no survival skills to speak of.

If we weren't wiped out in the first few minutes, we'd die of radiation, water poisoning, good old fashioned redneck shotgun disagreement, or starvation. To survive, my town would have to become either Andale or a major raider base. We'd have the guns & amoral attitude for the latter, and this is a small town, so the former is possible. There's not a whole lot to scavenge around us that won't be destroyed instantly.

Nope right now I live in Chicago so that'd be hit, then Where I grew up in the burbs would most likely be affected by the blast if it's not there is a stream, deer and other animals that I could hunt for a while, then where my dad lives by the Illinois River it would be [censored] because of the pollution and radiation from Chicago would float downstream.
