I was minding my own business in Freeside and walked out of the Kings after doing G.I. Blues or something. All I know is I talked to the King and left. After I left, I took 10 paces and decided to jump for no random reason. Make my 3rd person viewing more interesting, ya know? Then, all of a sudden, half way through my jump, I get catapulted into the sky, my body goes in 100 different directions going into a spaz attack mode, and I crash into the ground, leaving me with almost no health at all. My last save was 25 minutes prior, so I would have cried if I had died.

Anybody know what the heck happened?

Probably a bug. This usually doesn't happen, but when the game was released this was very common. I suggest trying to jump in the same exact place to see if it's just a one-time glitch or not. Make sure to save often, I save when I sense danger, something suspicious, and always before opening doors

Aadrian: What do you mean, when the game first released this was common? Has this been known to happen before? I do save constantly, but I let my guard down. I guess this was my wake up call.

Did you not know you can save right before you hit the ground.

Example I jump off of the Helios One Tower. Save right before I hit the ground. I die. I reload the save, and I take no damage.

Wombat: I know, I did the same thing. However, I was in shock as to what was going on and I was caught off guard, it didn't come to me.

Best. Bug. Ever. I wish this would happen to me at least once.

That's weird. I always tought it was ragdoll physics bug, but ragdolls cannot be applied into living bodies. With gamebryo, i mean :hehe:

This has happened to me in dead money I fell through the land and had to load a save from like half an hour before but I got to travel beyond the buildings it was fun.

Something similar happened to me. I have a mod that adds a balcony to the Lucky 38 Presidential Suite. Got bored and started to blast people with a sniper rifle. Then I see a securitron rocket...jumped to dodge it, my body flew 50 feet from the balcony and landed on top of the Tops Casino(removed the stupid border thing in the Strip) before dying from the fall.

This happened to me at Quarry Junction, on top of the crane just went flying so far I gOt to Sloan, right next to this molerat who was just limping alOng like nothing happened.

No, but I have something similar.

I was over by the NW Ranger Station , I forget the name , Foxtrot maybe ? Anyways the one kinda near Jacobstown. I was picking Xander root because I like to make my own stimpacks. I was in 1st person view . I stepped over a rock and shot straight up like a rocket. I did NOT hit the jump button to my knowledge . About 100 ft off the ground , the view auto-switched to third person so I could watch my body fall to its death. I had an auto-save leaving Ruby Hill mine so I only lost about 20 minutes , but I had to go re-pick all that Xander root.

This happened very shortly after the last patch.
Not saying it's related necessarily, but it had never to me happened before.
