Like everyone else in the world I can't wait for Skyrim. I just was looking at the calendar and noticed Skyrim is released on a Friday. This is
Huge for me. I hate that game release on tuseday. Midnight release then work and no play time. Now I am even more excited I get to go to
the midnight release then get to play for a few days straight. I can't believe this entire time I didn't know this. Please anyone else that had this
moment please share. Am I the only one?

I really thought I'd have to wait for Friday to get in some real play time. Not now, gonna have a solid two days at least.

Why does Bethesda aloud to do this. Is there a reason games only release on tuesday? Also is there a special reason for 11/11/11?

Europe has their entertainment releases on Friday's. Since it's a worldwide release, Pete said it was easier to do it on a Friday.

They chose 11.11.11 just 'cause it's a cool date. It being a Friday is completely coincidental.

If there was a LAW that said games HAD to release on Tuesdays only, then Nintendo has been breaking the law for years. Pokemon releases on Sundays, and that's just one instance. I've noticed several of their games releasing on Fridays or Sundays this year and next.

No, it's just most game publishers and DVD/Blu-ray publishers (if you haven't noticed DVD's and Blu-rays release on Tuesdays generally too) choose to generally release them on Tuesdays. Why, I don't know. But it's only in the US. It's Fridays or Thursdays in other countries.

It was a good decision, what svcks though is I wanted to take time off in November,(the whole week) but this week was being used instead for vacation time. I was forced to use it. :down: But because of this decision, I will be able to play it most of the weekend nonstop till I pass out.

My school district is dumb and wont let high schools get the day off :cryvaultboy: We didn't have the day off for Columbus day either.

Pretty much but I am SO happy it is a Friday because it works out the best with my schedule.

Games generally release on Tuesdays because it is the slowest sales day. It helps keep stores' sales numbers consistent and it also helps them prepare enough stock for the really popular titles. There are probably many more reasons, but that is pretty much the gist of it. There isn't a law or anything that says games HAVE to come out on Tuesdays, it is just one of those traditions.

It's also a paid holiday for me

My class schedule is really lax, so it's not like it really matters, but it's nice to know that everyone gets to basque in the glory of Skyrim on day 1.

Friday friday gonna get skyrim on fffrrriiiddaaayyyy....

This was one of the first things I checked when I learned about the release date.

I'll be cancelling my last college class on the evening of November 10th... Goign to camp out till midnigth with my best friend, outside of GameStop, then play at his house until we fall asleep. Wake up, do some chores, and play some more.

Whats better is that its on Veteran's Day :foodndrink: Luckily, I have that day off. Midnight premiere anybody?! :thumbsup:

so if you have school, you have it off that friday, so you can get it midnight on thursday and play it non stop all weekend. perfection.
