Hah, I went through the exact same thing when I went to buy ETQW years back. I had to convince them that, yes, I played the demo and loved it, yes, I was a Quake fan, and yes, I knew exactly what I was getting into.

Really, I enjoy playing this game, and will play the hell out of it for a while. But it really irks me how simple basic functions in this game just don't seem to work some times. Textures not loading? Sound cutting out? Finnicky multiplayer mode and just frustratingly unreliable bots? If the gameplay wasn't as fun to me as it was I'd probably stop you from buying it too to be honest.

Call of Duty dosn't release the same game. Modern Warfare does. [yes black ops counts as modern warfare] WW2 which is real Call of Duty has never released the same game and is superior to brink. The Modern series on the other hand releases the same game and is terrible.

Yea it feels like MW2 compared to MW was just a glorified map pack, with some slight changes. Same with black ops. But in reality, that what makes CoD so successful. Its like going to a Mcdonalds you get that comfort that you know whats on the menu wherever you go and its always the same. CoD gives you that comfort of knowing what to expect with each new game coming out and sadly this has trained the whole FPS market.

If the story's true im disgusted in the staff at that store. So would their manager be, if they were caught forcing a non-sale like that...

Either way, if they feel that way that's great but I think you've missed out by not having the game. People have opinions.

Hah, same thing happened to me when I went to get a used copy from Gamestop. The girl at the counter said 'this game may not turn out to be what you expected'. I bought it anyway with full expectations all the issues would be resolved very soon. BOY WAS I WRONG. Now the game is completely dead. It doesn't matter if they DO finally fix the problems. Its much too late, NOONE is playing this any more. Waste of 55 bucks, (lol to 5 dollar used discount)

Those two employees are the guys who play COD and have their killstreaks set to BlackBird chopper gunner and Dogs even though their highest killstreak is 5.

At Gamestop all they want you to do is buy CoD..... When I went to go pre-order Halo Reach bout a year ago, the worker was like "are you sure you wouldnt rather preorder CoD:Black Ops?" and they kept pushing and pushing. it pisses me off

they wern't pushing cod they just said brink svcked. this is an actual gamestop i trust... but the guy i trust wasent there.

Gamestop and their employees get a bonus depending on how many copies they pre-sale. So when big companies like Activision offer bonus for them to sell more they're gonna up-sell it even if they don't like it. I worked at Gamestop for 2 years and this was how it always was and probably always will be. Back when Halo: 3 and ODST were released we were offered bonus from Bungie for upselling, it just happened that time activision offered a better bonus than Bungie. Also dont be mad at Gamestop because they're sell outs. We all know they are, so when we choose to go there and get ripped off we cant complain because we chose that.

Just go by the fact that these guys have managed to code the most discusting ai in history, which goes somethign like (target=true=never miss=2shots your dead=1000yrds away i instantly know your there as you round the corner) I dont even look at names. After the "so called patch" it worsened 1000 full. The opposing ai is godlike and never missing and your ai has came down with down syndrome. medics dont heal, none of them complete any mission, none of them guard you. ITS absolutly horrible the ai. Add the still laggy servers and you have brink. We showed you lots of shiney videos, promised you everything and delivered minimal for your 60 bucks. Can you tell im upset with this game?

Idunno, I bought it for single-player alone because I was half-expecting the P2P to be as unplayable as Borderlands for me. Single player can still be a blast, but if that's your only option then it's definitely worth renting first.



I lag horribly in every single online game ever because of my connection, but the lag my end is no worse than a CoD title, and the game is actually playable unlike Borderlands. As for AI, here's a pro-tip: select Versus, rather than Solo or Co-Op. AI actually gets pretty balanced and competitive that way.

I just don't see where all of these AI complaints come from. Aside from the allies lack of help in SP I actually like the AI, but even that doesn't seem very bad anymore considering my human allies don't help either. The all powerful aimbot AI that some people claim just seems like frustration from dying one too many times. I hate to bring CoD into this but you've perfectly described the Black Ops AI.
When your entire team is bots or the other team is than it becomes obvious what you're fighting against, but in a 1 on 1 situation I can honestly say that the bots and humans are very similar. Also medics DO heal, infact they sometimes run all the way across the map to do it. AI medics are so focused on healing that it usually kills them, if you don't get revived it's because they're reviving someone else.
