The no HUD thing really caught my eye. It's going to be interesting seeing how they implement that. But that's really going to provide a lot of great immersion if done well.

For real???

Yep for real. The actual wording says that there is more to do in towns, including forging weapons at a forge, woodcutting, cooking food, mining and farming which you can do when taking a break from adventuring. Doesn't say the importance of these jobs or how much they benefit the character by doing them.

Fable III's was done quite poorly. If Bethesda wants to see how to NOT make a subtle HUD...go play Fable 3. :P

yeah Far cry 2 really worked with no HUD.. it was the first thing I thought of when playing oblivion after and havng to look at the cumbersome health meter.

FOR REAL????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

(Sorry if I'm so sceptic, but what you say is something you only can get by installing tons of mods, both in MW and in OB....seems too nice to be true :_D).

I've mentioned this before, but this is a huge favor for roleplayers that makes me more optimistic about the other, more questionable announced stuff. Just having something to do besides kill things is great.

You bet it's great! My, my, I'm slowly getting myself convinced that Skyrim is in fact more complex than Oblivion. And even more than Morrowind itself!

I think it will be as complex as Morrowind in different ways.

Heads up display, like the health bars, magicka and stamina in the corners of the screen.

- Dialog will pop up when you approach an enemy

Can someone elaborate upon this ?

Seems weird like: Beware your approaching an annemy ??!

I think it′s better than just the enemy running towards you and attacking, more realistic. He might first want to know who you are and what you are doing there

I realized something reading the article... The dragon shouts mentioned is the power of the voice that the Greybeards used in their wars and conquests before their retreat!

In lore the Greybeards could break down city gates using the power of the voice! This also makes sense since the Greybeards will be the ones training you.

In a perfect world this would mean you could use Speechcraft to bluff your way past enemies instead of having to fight them.

I think it's unlikely we live in that perfect world, but a man can dream.

mining, cooking, woodcutting, smithing are IN.

I wouldn't get too excited about that. NPCs in Oblivions and the recent Fallouts could do various things, like read, eat, drink, practice, mix up potions, and whatnot. Those are just an extension of that, and are just as likely to be as robotic as ever. Now, if Bethesda improved their animations and reduced the amount of "standing around staring blankly" that plagued those games, we'll be on to something.

Normally, the idea would be to use some creative audio and visual cues to let the player know. Displaying more injuries on the character, animating him so that he moves with a limp (at a reduced speed), blurring the screen, having a heartbeat sound effect in the background, that kind of stuff. If done well, it can be pretty cool.

More than likely there will be unobstrusive indicators that pop up during combat or spell usage. I think its only no HUD most of the time, not all of the time.

Doesnt that make it more cumbersome as youd have to switch to menu's more often to see what your actual stats are?
Like: should I cast this heal or am I already at max health?

Not really. HUD-less interfaces have been pretty common in games for a long time now. It's just a matter of how they're handled.

Uh, you do realize those are all things the PLAYER can do, right?
