Tempted to download fraps just to show this off.

1) Go to Whiterun.
2) Run a rampage killing everyone
3) ?????
4) Lolololololoolol

Remember in Oblivion, where if you killed somebody, then everyone would start running away from you? Or in Morrowind, where everyone and their mother would grab a pitchfork and chase you?
Skyrim, everyone just yells "By the gods!" and then continues on about their day. No running, no attacking you.

Just "By the Gods! .....I work for Belethor, at the General goods store. *chops wood*"

The fight is between you and the other guy. He's dead; it's over. Carry on. Seems good enough to me.

Yeah dude, cause that's how I react when I view people being brutally murdered on the street. I yell "HOLY [censored]" and then go about my day.

It's Skyrim, not modern-day England.

I've not tried this, don't the guards run over to attack you? I know when I accidently killed a hunter while killing some bandits, head back Whiterun and the guards were all over me.

The guards do what they're supposed to. The townsfolk just couldn't give a [censored]. You can literally catch one of them walking about, minding his business, kill another person, he'll say "BY THE GODS!!! GET AWAY" but continue walking towards you, then he'll spout his rehashed dialog line like "you've tried mercenary work? It might suit you."

Also I can't believe people are actually defending this.... :cryvaultboy:

Messed around with it and I think I found the problem: NPCs don't react to murders, they react to fights. If you have a guard swinging his sword at you, they (might) run. If you just kill someone and there's no guards about, they just don't give a [censored]. :D

This discussion reminded me of a save file I have of me and Legate Hrollod visiting Windhelm.

There are a lot of weird points you can look at here but the one thing that I'd like to see is to have the guards attack me if I'm aiding someone they are attacking. Healing a guard obviously isn't an aggressive action but healing the target of a guard should be taken as an aggressive action and should make the guards attack you.

Well it's the same thing if you steal something, they shout 'stop thief' and then carry on with what they were doing. Basically the AI is crap in Skyrim...

If you do notice some of em like to say "this isnt happening!" Obviously they're trying to psyche themselves into believing that there is no murder, and are failing terribly, with their level 0 illusion skill.

If I was a guard, I'd do the same. Damn, is that guy annoying..

Kill a chicken in Riverwood.

The funny thing is you can kill a chicken by pushing one of those little carts next to a chicken and then jumping on the cart. The havoc makes the cart flip out and if it happens to hit a chicken it'll die and nobody notices. haha. I have yet to kill an NPC with a cart tho I did try. ;) Somebody needs to make a mod where carts do crazy damage... that be fun.

I think every man and woman grabbing weapons and trying to take you out is the least realistic of your 3 scenarios. Gawking spectators and people running indoors would be most likely, but a world that sees towns attacked by dragons every week I don't see how simply trying to ignore it while the guards do their job is too far fetched. People in that world wouldn't be as shocked and horrified as some first-world, modern-day kid like you would be.
