So much anger. Why not write what you want to write. The quest for validation is a fool’s errand.

As for saying what’s good on the forum and what’s not - you should take the time to seriously critique the threads you like and the threads you don’t like. That will help them get better over time. Most comments here, whether they’re really positive or really negative are only 7 or 8 words – “awesome job” or “keep it up” - nothing more. Great for stroking ego, bad for developing writing skill.

People nowadays always want to get something great for doing nothing. . .

Agreed, I first cut my teeth around here a while back in the TES fiction forum, lots of help down there particularly from people like mALX1.

Admittedly I prefer to write than read, but I think some old warhorses should try and comment on new FFs.

Yeah, this thread isn't going anywhere with ice cream.

So I'm gonna close it since we like our threads to at least have a chance to achieve that cold sugary goodness.

(In other words, this thread is just going to end up with flames.)
