Why is it that there are only 2 good fanfics, and 1 good RP going? I really want someone to answer this, because last time I was active on Fallout Fanfiction, a new RP or fanfic would appear every week.

For now, the only thing keeping me here, is being able to read The Crusader(Waiting for that next chapter!) and the possibility of a good RP being posted.

And please, if you do reply to this, DO NOT, under any circumstances, mention the "zombie rp".

Woolymammoth and I are helping Ringman get on his feet with RPing. So we helped him flesh out the zombie idea. Also, what you posted is flame-bait.

If you want to tear someone down, offer them a way to do a better job. Don't ever tear people down if you don't tell them or give them a suggestion on how to improve or fix their error.

Chill with that. I wasn't saying his rp (which isn't made yet?) is garbage. I read through that whole thread, and this forum does not need that. Yea my RP was bad, never even mentioned it in my post, and I've never been good at making rp's, Ive only made one good one. The point of my post was to show that nothingnis going on, all the old guys are gone, with the exception of me and strangelove.

It is actually up right now.

And until you make something equivalent to this as far as quality of writing and lasting-long (and it is still going)...

Gotcha. Nothing is going on sure, doesn't mean things can't get going. That's why we're trying the zombie thing. And, it HAS been made, it was just posted by Wooly.

I've also been RPing on these threads for longer than you. That's no brag, I'm not rubbing it in your face, but I have been here for a while and do enjoy an occasional Fallout RP. Strangelove's current RP being one of the better ones yet.

I've been Roleplaying here longer than you as well :shrug:. Why are you so quick to shoot down something you barely know a thing about? I'd definitely recommend formulating valid opinions to support your claims in the future. :tops:

Anyway, now that I got that out of my system. I don't think Dan was bashing anyones RP. I thin the only reason he mentioned the new Zombie RP is because it's ... well ... new!! And I guess since none of the RPs (including mine) aren't really going anywhere yet, I figure that he just meant what the title says, and that none of them are good because nothings happening in them right now. There's not big action or anything I guess?

And I would chill, on both sides by saying what's needed or not. Who cares, it's just a forum. Some join RPs that appeal to them and they like, others don't join that RP because it doesn't appeal to them. So I think neither side of this, should really be shouting or flaming one another because of what the other said.

So it's simple: Make friendly again, don't worry what belongs or doesn't belong, and who has more experience here or there, etc. It's a damn forum full of people with ideas. Maybe we should all take an hour nap so we're not so cranky and childish?

EDIT: Really though, until he clarified what he meant, you can't blame us for getting a little fired up. We thought he was bashing what we were writing without good reason. I think that's enough to get some kind of response from the writers.

I wish I were still as interested in the Elder Scrolls universe as I was after playing Morrowind. Oblivion kind of killed it for me. That fan-fic looks interesting and I half want to join it (as an Orc) but I suspect I would only end up dragging it down (to some small extent) as I haven't read much about the TES Universe since the days before Oblivion came out.

Good show though...probably...I'll get to reading it soon.

I must say I'm a bit skeptical about the zombie RP but that's largely because I don't really like RPs with squads or futuristic guns. I like RPs that aren't focused on action, of course the zombie RP may well come to change my mind on that matter.

I have no doubt that the forum is going to pick up once Fallout: New Vegas comes out.

Yeah, things are gonna heat up again because of the new landscape and lore and what not. I prefer it when there's only three or four Rps out because it means there's room for everyone. Before, there were Rps out nearly every day, most of them didn't survive because everyone was involved with a different one =P.

If you look, I tried making an RP a while back (It says, by Me, Sillycat, and MrSmiley. But it was originally my plan, they just helped). It was actually constructed pretty well and I was really excited about it. But then a few people just dropped off the face of the Earth right when the action picked up and totally screwed the RP over.

That's pretty much how all my RP's have died. I was usually very committed, as were others, but then someone comes along and just drops out. I also don't like killing off my people because that can potentially leave some nasty holes. I think if I ever make another RP, and that happens, I'll just have to kill the person off and cut my losses.

So much anger. Why not write what you want to write. The quest for validation is a fool’s errand.

As for saying what’s good on the forum and what’s not - you should take the time to seriously critique the threads you like and the threads you don’t like. That will help them get better over time. Most comments here, whether they’re really positive or really negative are only 7 or 8 words – “awesome job” or “keep it up” - nothing more. Great for stroking ego, bad for developing writing skill.

People nowadays always want to get something great for doing nothing. . .

+1 for total truth. And when someone says, "Oh, I've been reading this, just haven't commented," I don't really buy that. And if they have, than who can really say? But whatever, I think if you like something, you should comment on what it is you like, and not just give a simple answer like you gave SentientSurfer, but something that really makes them know you're reading their story.
