I am no writer but the option would be nice.

My question is simple, would you like the ability to write in-game? Considering the vast amount of written content in the TES series I am still surprised that there is no ability (outside of mods) to do this yourself. I am no writer as you can see here, but I would enjoy the ability to at least write down notes (post-its all over my house) because I have a horrid memory. I can easily forget where I put stuff and if I am unable to play for a week or two I could even forget where my own house is.

I wouldn't mind the ability to write a little journal so I can keep up with who is important, recent friends made, who gave me what quests that I would like to revisit...with the new radiant AI this could come in handy not as just an RP element but to keep up with the busy world of skyrim.

Those of you with real writing skills could whip up some amazing stories I'm sure that may be exported into some kind of mod for others to enjoy if this was supported.

The ability to keep notes in-game would save me a lot of paper. I always found mods that do this fun, so I would enjoy it if it was a feature.

I used to write things in books/journals/papers all the time in some of the old MUDs I used to play. I'm surprised at how few graphical RPGs have yet to implement it. It makes playing a Bard feel much cooler when you can just jot down a witty little rhyme in your book.

If you want to write custom notes, why not just use an actual notepad?

I think it'd be ok for PC, but it'd svck for console. Have you ever tried writing multiple paragraphs on a controler? lol

I have and it's not as bad as you might think, but I still think it'd be more of a pain than it's worth.

The in game Journal works fine for me. Why would I need the notes in my own words?

I usually do keep a notepad but I think it would help with the immersion if I could keep them attached to the game (also I wouldn't lose it). My gaming notepad is crammed as it is :P.

I also didn't take consoles into consideration either...sorry guys! I'm sure it would be a pain but if you can't keep up with a notepad or want something that will not get lost (unless you delete your save) then the in-game option would be nice.

The only reason I would want this is because of how much a seizure TES games have when you try to tab out of them. If I could tab out more, and more easily, then I wouldn't need it.

gamesas: Fix the tab out crashing.

I have a chatpad for my 360 controller, but I think it'd end in to much of a pain having to hook it up everytime I needed to write something down. I make personal notes in a notebook myself.

I would love if the journal allowed you to make personal notes.

What would be REALLY cool, is if ALL paper at all allowed you to make notes, and by that I mean books that have already been written you. You could make notes on alchemy ingredients in the margins and stuff like that.

In fact, if any modders are in this thread, keep that idea in mind as a first time mod for Skyrim. I would be very happy.

more of a pain than it's worth.

So don't use it? At the very least, you would HAVE the option in the first place, compared to previous games where console players did not.

I'd love to, but I'd rather have the time spent on something more important unless this can be tacked on relatively fast.

But if this isn't in the game, it would be a great mod to make.

LOL, thanks...I voted :P While I don't care if the option is in or out, if they did end up putting it in the game, I would probably use it.

This is something I noticed missing from Oblivion myself

It would be much easier to make notes up in a journal whereby you can say which dungeons you have completely plundered, which you have only half plundered due to running out of inventory space for example and which you have yet to visit and only show up on your map because you passed it by whilst on another quest. I was completly frustrated in Oblivion by not knowing which forts, ruins, caves etc I had already visited and which I hadn't and running all the way to one and then another only to find I had already recovered everything.

The thing is if it was included in Syrim it would probably be the most simple thing in it, I mean how many minutes would it take to put a diary/journal into the game. Great Idea hope the developers think about it

Well I like idea of able scribe notes in journal thats really good thing but I know thats feature will not be done since it will be useful only on PC while devs want make game thats equal at all platforms like Oblivion was maybe such feature can fit into promised special PC UI as part of journal system overhaul but thats doubtful at last we have mods so after few years like before you know if you want something done well do it by self.
