Wrye Bash to LAME spell names?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 7:53 pm

I was running Supreme Magicka and LAME together, but decided I just wanted to stick with LAME. However, since I loaded Supreme Magicka last, I tagged the Wrye Bash spell name option since SM doesn't do it by default. Now that I'm back to just LAME I'd like to use LAME's naming convention, but when I turn off the name tweak in my Bashed patch, the spells don't revert. I even re-started my character to see if that was the problem, and no dice. Any idea how to go back to the LAME names?

Did you check LAME in the names section of the bashed patch? Wrye Bash cannot retain the names of SM if SM is not in your load order.

I have seen it said before that the bash patch can retain info and therefore mess with future builds ..That being said..could you try coping the empty bashpatch.esp over from the MOPY dir and see if thats your Problem?

Edit:
its in the Extras folder

If you rebuild it without the mod present, how could it retain the info? What version of Wrye Bash are you using?

Not me again..I was giving the OP a way to try to fix said Problem. The inner workings of BASH would escape me. but when ever the Bash patch is doing something that it really should not be able to do this is the way to TRY to fix it. it never hurts to copy the Blank one and do it from scratch. This Program (BASH)is certainly one of the Things that falls into the "Black Box " realm...lol

Me i am using the latest greatest version..282.

I've got 282. And I wasn't using Supreme Magicka's spell names, I use Wrye Bashs' (Supreme Magicka, from what I understand, doesn't change the spell names).

SM DOES change the spell names, but if you use Bash's spell name tweak, it overrides SM's name changes.

[EDIT] I'm not even really sure what's going on here... You were using SM and L.A.M.E. together (loading SM after L.A.M.E.). What do you mean by Bash's name tweak? The one where you can add prefixes to all the spells, like (D3) and stuff? If you just want L.A.M.E.'s spell names, then turn that tweak off (which you might have already done), and Import Names from L.A.M.E.

If the CSV is unchecked; however, those Wrye naming changes should not be present anymore...

And yeah, make sure you're not importing names from Rational Names.csv. That's going to change all your spell names and it's going to override anything else you Import Names from, because it's last on the list.

That did it. I wasn't aware Rational Names changed spell names, I thought it was the Tweak Names/Spells option that was doing it, so I only changed the Tweak and not the Import.
